    Evelyn Elizabeth Kast, 79, of Sparta and formerly of Cashton passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007, at Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in Sparta. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton. Burial will be in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Pine Hollow near Cashton. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be offered at www.torkelsonfuneral.com.
    Eveylyn E. Kast, age 79, of Sparta, WI, formerly of Cashton, WI away on Mar 12, 2007 Evelyn Elizabeth Kast, age 79, of Sparta, WI and formerly of Cashton, WI, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2007, at the Franciscan Skemp Medical Center in Sparta. She was born May 28, 1927, to Carl and Elizabeth (Blauschmidt) Waters in Ladysmith, WI. She was a high school graduate in Ladysmith, WI. Evelyn worked at Badger Ordinance near Baraboo, WI. Her parents owned and operated Carl's tavern in Melvina, this is where she met her future husband, Herman Kast. Evelyn and Herman were united in marriage on November 26, 1946. Together they farmed in Melvina until 1970. She lived in the Cashton area until 1992, when she moved to Sparta. Evelyn enjoyed doing puzzles and word searches. She is survived by her children, John (Diane) Kast of Cashton, WI, Elizabeth (Alan) Anderson of Sparta, WI and Carl Kast of Cashton, WI; three grandchildren, Cory Anderson and Brian and Jason Kast; siblings, Josephine Johnson of Chetek, WI, William Waters of Sparta, WI and Catherine Sherwood of California; a brother-in-law, La Mont Erickson of Melvina, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Elizabeth; her husband, Herman on April 12, 1983; a brother, Milton Waters and a sister, Anna Mae Erickson. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2007, 11:00 a.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton. Father James Leary O.F.M.Cap. will officiate. Burial will follow in the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Pine Hollow near Cashton. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Wednesday, March 14, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton.
