The s on of the late Edwin and Emily Turriff was born Jan 7, 1912 in DePere a nd was a lifelong resident. He married the former Agnes O'Connell at Annun ciation Church in 1941. He was Office Manager for Acme Tree Surgery unt il his retirement in 1974. Mr. Turriff was a member of St. Francis Men's C lub. He is survived by his wife; one son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Joan ne Turriff; two grandchildren, Billy and Susan; one brother, Malcolm, of G reen Bay; one sister, Anna Mae Turriff of Green Bay. Enlisting in the National Guard in 1938. He was in the 32nd Infantry Division known as the Red Arrow. The 32nd Division was among the first to be called to active duty in World War II. Donald served in many campaigns in the South Pacific throughout the war until being honorably discharged in 1945.
Obituary:
Donald F. Turriff, 91, passed away peacefully on his birthday at "Serenity," his beloved cottage on Lake Lucerne. Donald was born May 29, 1919, in De Pere, to Roland and Mary (Van De Hei) Turriff. After attending Nicolet High School, Donald worked in the family plumbing business until enlisting in the National Guard in 1938. He was in the 32nd Infantry Division known as the Red Arrow. The 32nd Division was among the first to be called to active duty in World War II. Donald served in many campaigns in the South Pacific throughout the war until being honorably discharged in 1945.
On Oct. 7, 1950, he married Zeta Wellens at St. Francis Catholic Church. Donald was employed by the state of Wisconsin as a Master Plumber at the Green Bay Reformatory for 34 years, retiring in 1982. He was also the Plumbing Inspector for the city of De Pere for over 20 years. He served as president for the Wisconsin Society of Plumbing Inspectors. Donald was a lifelong member of the VFW Post 2113, the American Legion, the Disabled Veterans and the De Pere Men's Club.
In 2009, Donald was contacted by the World War II Museum in New Orleans, La., to share his experiences with the "Red Arrow" for the museum's South Pacific Wing. He donated several of his World War II artifacts and pictures to the museum.
Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time up north with his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his wife of 59 years, Zeta; three daughters and two sons, Terri (David) Gay, Barb (Dave) Stencil, Amy Jo Turriff, Tim Turriff, Jeff Turriff; six grandchildren, Chelsea and Dan Gay, Tara Stencil, Miranda, Logan and Devin Turriff. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Gerri Turriff; and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; four brothers, Ray, Elzier, Ramsdall and Thomas; three sisters, Marie Turriff, Lucille Jenen and Jane Renkins.
Friends may call at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, on Wednesday, June 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. with the prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue after 8 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive, De Pere, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. with Fr. Tim Shillcox, O. Praem., officiating. Entombment will take place in Allouez Catholic Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Unity Hospice.

Patricia Mae Liethen, 79, passed away unexpectedly Friday February 5th, 2016 after a brief illness, Pat was born May 21, 1936 in De Pere, WI to Raymond and Marion Turriff. Pat grew up in Appleton the oldest of four children and is survived by her two brothers George Turriff (NC), David Turriff (MD), and her sister Mary Christiensen (Appleton). She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in Menasha in 1954 and worked at Presto Products and Pranges Department store in Appleton until 1986. She moved to Orange, California to be closer to her daughters and worked as a senior buyer for Bio-Rad Diagnostic Labratories. Her extreme energy and love of her career allowed her to work until September of 2015. After retiring, Pat moved to a beautiful and active senior living community. An amazing woman with a zest for life, Pat enjoyed traveling the world over, entertaining friends, and searching for beautiful white wines to share with her friends.
Patricia is survived by her two daughters Sue (Steve) Liethen Bolwell of Carlsbad CA. and Amy Jo (Tommy) Guem of Aspen CO. Her grandson Tyler Bolwell was the light of her life. "Oma" and Tyler had such a fantastic love for each other. Pat was preceded in death by her daughter Sara in 1984.
Pat lived life to its fullest. There is no one more generous, fun loving, and selfless than this outstanding woman. She will be missed by many but not half as much as her daughters will miss her. She was our Mom but more importantly our best friend too.

Gail R. (Turriff) Kempen, 77, of De Pere, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. She was born July 7, 1935 a daughter of the late Earl and Unise (Lusier) Turriff. On September 24, 1955 she married Norman "Butch" Kempen at St. Boniface Church in De Pere. Butch preceded her in death on May 29, 1993.
Gail graduated from Holy Family School of Nursing in Manitowoc. She was a nurse for over 50 years; taking care of people at St. Vincent Hospital, Manor Care, Rennes Health Center, and retiring from Brown County Mental Health Center. She was God's faithful servant and strong in her faith, and an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family. She belonged to the Tuesday Night Prayer Group, was a past president of Christian Mothers at St. Boniface Church, volunteered at St. Vincent Hospital and The Wellspring, and was a Girl Scout leader.
Gail is survived by her children: Mary (Ray) Wiercinski, De Pere, Mark (Marsha) Kempen, Luxemburg, Laura (Eric) Gerarden, De Pere, Steven (Barbara Williams) Kempen, Madison, and Beth (Craig) Knuth, Freedom; her 13 grandchildren: Charles (Lindsay Christiansen) Wiercinski, Derek ( Katrina Mihajlovich) Wiercinski, Leah Wiercinski, Amy Francis, Anina Bacon, Joshua Gerarden, Alyssa (Patrick Sweeney) Gerarden, Katie Gerarden, Sam Gerarden, Nicholas Kempen, Molleigh Kempen, Bennett Knuth and Josie Knuth; great grandchildren Ethan and Isabelle and a future great grandson in December. She is further survived by her siblings: Joan (Al) Bleser, Carol (Tom) Pilgrim, Rita Aerts, and David (Cecilia) Turriff; brother-in-law Bernard (Pat) Kempen, sisters-in-law Rose Ann (Dan) Polley and Yvonne Kempen and many nieces and nephews. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Unise Turriff, her husband Norman "Butch" Kempen, and ten brothers and sisters-in-law.

Rita Aerts (nee Turriff), age 75, of De Pere, died peacefully in her sleep at home, Thursday, September 21, 2017, following a brief illness. Rita was born January 2, 1942 in Green Bay to the late Earl and Eunice (Luisier) Turriff.
Rita grew up on the family dairy farm in the Town of Lawrence, attended a small country grade school, graduated from West De Pere High School and earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from St. Norbert College. She spent the majority of her teaching career at Notre Dame Elementary in De Pere where she was a beloved 5th grade teacher for almost 30 years. Rita retired from teaching in 2007, which left her with more time for friends and family, especially her 4 granddaughters, whom she loved with all of her heart.
In her early adulthood, she enjoyed playing tennis, biking, camping every summer and shopping with her dear friend, Barb. Later she continued to enjoy biking and also loved sleepovers with her grandkids and traveling, visiting Europe as recently as November of 2016. She also took many trips to visit her daughter, Andrea, in California.
Rita will be remembered as a beloved mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. Rita's kind-hearted and friendly nature set everyone that she encountered at ease, quite often striking up conversations with strangers and allowing them to open up and share their life story with her. She inherited her father's sense of humor and her mother's compassionate heart. Her faith in God sustained her through her life. Her memory will forever be cherished.
Rita is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Andrea Aerts and Carrie (David) Richards; 4 granddaughters: Helen, Grace, Amelia and Charlotte; 2 grand-dogs, Gordy and Tessa; sister, Carol (Tom) Pilgrim and brother, David (Cecilia) Turriff. She is further survived by numerous special nieces, nephews, in-laws and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Joan Bleser and Gail (Butch) Kempen.

Turriff, Michael H.Michael H. Turriff, 66, of West De Pere, passed away Monday December 6, 20 04, at home. Mike was born September 14, 1938, and was the son of the la te Roy and Margarette (Vanderheiden) Turriff. He was a 1956 graduate of Ni colet High School in West De Pere and a 1957 graduate of the Barber Scho ol in Green Bay. Mike married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Polla tz in 1959, sharing forty-five years together. Mike operated his own barbe rshop, Mike's Barber Shop for 15 years on Shawano Avenue in Green Bay. Mi ke was a veal grower for 30 plus years and also was a veal representati ve for White Clover Dairy and Real Veal for many years. He enjoyed his gre enhouse, fish pond, mowing his son's grass and four-wheeler riding with h is grandchildren. Mike will be remembered as a family man and a man of de ep faith. His entire life was devoted to God and his family. Richard B. Turriff, 68, Okeechobee, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, in Raulerson Hospital. He was born Oct. 27, 1942, in Lawrence, De Pere, Wis., to Robert and Ruby Lamers Turriff. He was married to Diane Ruth Berg Turriff of Green Bay, Wis., for 40 years until her passing in 2003. He came to Florida from De Pere, Wis., in 1979, residing in Fort Pierce, until 2002 when he moved to Okeechobee. He enjoyed wood-crafting and the outdoors. In addition he assisted Mathew:25, a charitable organization in Okeechobee.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Diane.
Survivors include his sons, Dean Richard Turriff (Rebecca Bruner), Marquette, Mich.; Major Dennis Robert Turriff, USAF (Sandra Householder Turriff), San Antonio, Texas; Daniel Leo Turriff, Fort Pierce, Fla.; and Donald Joseph Turriff (Jill Curtis Turriff), Bellbuckle, Tenn.; siblings, Anna Diedrich (Leo), Linda Turriff, Mary Turiff Lundin (Roland Sitorski), Marcel Turriff (Debbie Watermelon Turriff), and Frank Turriff. In addition he is survived by grandchildren, James, Melissa, Robert, Brandon, Amber Lee, Cali, and Devlin.

On Au g. 24, 1963, he married the former Mary VandeHei at St. Joseph Catholic Ch urch in De Pere. He was a machine adjuster at Proctor and Gamble Paper Com pany for over 36 years, and retired in 1997.
