He was marri ed Jan 30, 1914 in Kaukauna to Josephine Verhagen. She died April 25, 193 6. He married Lilliam Kamke in April of 1938. She died Nov 20, 1980.     Evelyn Treichel-Hennig was called to her heavenly home on April 9, 2018 at the age of 94. She passed away peacefully at her home at The Heritage Senior Living Residence in Appleton, WI. She was born on July 6, 1923 in the town of Holland, Brown County, WI to the late Charles L. and Elsie (Spietz) Bohrtz. She married Wilbert H. Treichel on September 18, 1943 in Wrightstown, WI, who preceded her in death on April 22, 1993. Later she married Marlin R. Hennig of Green Bay, who also preceded her in death on January 30, 2003.
    Evelyn was a devout Christian all her life and served her Lord faithfully. She was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church of Morrison, WI for 57 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid Society, in which she served as vice president and treasurer. In 2000, she became a member of her husband Marlin's church, Hope Lutheran of De Pere, WI.
    Evelyn had a true servant's heart and lovingly cared for her family, friends, and employers. She and Wilbert operated a dairy farm in the town of Morrison until 1972, and she was also employed at the Larsen Company of Green Bay, WI for many years. In her younger years, she served as a host for practice teachers, many of whom became like family.
    Evelyn was the consummate hostess, and found great joy in entertaining loved ones over a home cooked meal. She was also an avid reader, always looking for meaningful articles and pieces of wisdom she could pass on to her family members. In her free time, she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing Sheepshead, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who brought her so much joy.
    Some of Evelyn's fondest memories included: traveling to Washington, the New England states, and Europe; volunteering at the National Railroad Museum; and being selected to take a course for one semester at St. Norbert College when she lived at Nicolet Highlands Senior Apartments in De Pere, WI.
    She is survived by her two sons, Donald W. (Julie) Treichel and David C. (Sandra) Treichel of Appleton, WI; 5 grandchildren: Joseph (Lindsay) Treichel, Kristina (Adam) Thomas, Brett (Kellie) Treichel, Bethany (Sean) McCullough, and Blake (Clare) Treichel; 7 great grandchildren: Brecken and Stella Thomas, Summitt and Hudson Treichel, Jake Treichel, and Anne and Everett McCullough; and one sister, Elaine Bohrtz. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
    Preceded in death by a son Darrel L. Treichel, brother Wilmer (Esther) Bohrtz, and great-grandchild Faith Thomas.
    A funeral service will be held Evelyn's honor at 12:00pm on Saturday, April 14 at Hope Lutheran Church, 700 S. Superior St., De Pere, WI, with Rev. Matthew Baye officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00am-12:00pm. All are invited to a luncheon following the service. Her remains will be buried at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Morrison, WI. He served in the Army in World War II and was a member of the Disabled Verterans and American Legion Post 492. He was born Sept 16, 1916 in Kaukauna, the son of John and the late Josephine Wyro. He was married April 27, 1940 in Schofield to Virginia "Tootsie" Fuller, who died May 2, 1980.     Carl Melchert, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 5, 2006, at Manorcare Health Services. He was born May 16, 1921, in Appleton, son of the late Benjamin and Minnie (Wyro) Melchert. He married Ruby Johnson July 3, 1948, sharing 57 years together. He was employed by Miller Electric for close to 40 years and retired in 1984. Carl served with the Army in the Pacific theater during WWII. He was a life long member of Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church, the Appleton VFW Post #2278, Appleton American Legion Post #38 and the Military Order of Cooties. Carl enjoyed many years of camping and fishing with his family. He took special pride and pleasure working in his yard. Christmas was his favorite time of the year and he made it very special.
    Carl will be missed by his loving wife Ruby, two daughters and sons-in-law; Carla and Ralph Von Fossen, Tallahasse, FL; Lynn and Michael Evers, Appleton; a son and daughter-in-law: Steven and Donna Melchert, Appleton; a sister: Bernice Thyssen, Appleton; six grandchildren: Erik, Nick and Scott Melchert; Krista, Michelle, and Ryan Evers; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Melchert.     Survivors include three sons, Kevin Smits, Jeffrey (Heidi) Smits, and Robert Jr. (Janna) Smits; three sisters, Helen Tauscher, Elsie (Marv) Janz, and Norma Miller; one brother, Glenn (Diana) Verheyen; and fve grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, John Tauscher and Roy Miller.
    Of special note is the 19 years she worked at Vocation Central in Hales Corners for the priests of the Sacred Heart, retiring from her position due to disability.
    Our special thanks to Heartland Hospice, who cared for Diane for the last four years, especially nurse Ursella, Sr. Ellen, aide Donna and Dr, Yee Cheng and nurse Jean.
    Visitation at the Funeral Home on Friday, July 23, at 6 to 8 p.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 7:45 p.m. Additional visitation at HOLY APOSTLES CATHOLIC CHURCH, 16000 W. National Ave., New Berlin, on Saturday at 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Rev. Ken Smits, OFM Cap. (Diane's brother-in-law) officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice.
