Derfus, Donald F.Donald F. Derfus, , Appleton, age 90, died on Sunday, January 23, 20 05 at Franciscan Care Center. Don was born in Sherwood, Wisconsin, on Ju ne 14, 1914, son of the late John and Aurelia (Eder) Derfus. He married Ma rian Hale on November 23, 1940, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton. D on was employed as a machinist at Kimberly Clark for 28 years, retiri ng in 1977. He was a member of the International Association of Machinist 's and a Corporate Life Member at K-C. Don and Marian loved dancing to pol ka music and traveling the world with their son. He was an excellent repai rman and craftsman, creating many projects for family and friends.Don will be greatly missed by his wife, Marian; his daughter-in-law, Mar cy Derfus; a grandson, Austin Derfus; three granddaughters: Melissa, Jocel yn and Kristin Derfus; sisters-in-law: Ellen (Allan) Coenen; Clarice Wa ge and godchild, Sarah Joyce. He is further survived by a special niece a nd nephew, Sandy and Bob Newby and many other nieces and nephews.Don was preceded in death by his son, Daniel; sister, Grace Tews; brothe rs and sisters-in-law: Al Tews, John and Sarah and James and Delores Hal e; Edward Michels and Clarence Wage.The Funeral Mass will be held at 12 Noon, on Saturday, January 29, 200 5, at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton, wi th Rev. Donald Zuleger officiating. Visitors will be received at the funer al home on Friday, January 28 from 4 until 8 p.m., and again at the chur ch on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A Prayer Service w ill be held at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The interment wi ll be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood.The family wishes to thank the staff of Unit 2 at Franciscan Care Cente r, for their loving care of Don.
