Obituary:
Viola Amanda Verkuilen, Kaukauna, age 92, died April 28, 2007, at Brewster Village. She was born November 6, 1914, to the late Otto and Emma (Mantei) Grimm in Kaukauna, where her father worked for the railroad. Viola quit school in her junior year in Kaukauna, and then worked in a few restaurants, Harold Frank Grocery Store, her husband's plumbing shop as a book keeper, all in Kaukauna, and then for Fairlane 5 & 10 in Appleton. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Little Chute. On April 2, 1933, Viola Grimm became the bride of Louis Martin VerKuilen at Holy Cross Priest House and together they raised three children. Viola was baptized at Immanuel Evangelical & Reformed Church now Immanuel United Church of Christ where she became a member in 1929, and has remained an active member ever since. Not only did she serve in the Women's Guild and its Circles, but she was also a part of the Prayer Circle.
She is survived by two sons: DuWayne (Shirley) VerKuilen, Shawano; Ronald (Nancy) VerKuilen, Little Chute; a daughter, Patricia (Frank) Lamers, Combined Locks; 16 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Emma Grimm; her husband Louis in 1987; a great granddaughter, Danielle Pleshek; three brothers: Elmer, Carl and an infant brother Walter.
Memorial Service for Viola will be held Thursday May 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 510 Sullivan, Kaukauna with Pastor Melinda Feller officiating. Friends may call at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
The family would like to thank the staff at Brewster Village, especially Judy, for the care they gave Viola as well as Theda Care Hospice for the compassion they gave Mom during her final days.

Obituary:
DuWayne Louis "Wayne" VerKuilen, age 77, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton. Wayne was born on September 13, 1934 in Kaukauna, son of the late Louis and Viola (Grimm) VerKuilen. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1953 then joined the United States Air Force, where he served in Laon, France until 1958. While there, he was recruited for the Air Force volleyball team, which went on to play for the world title. On October 18, 1958, he was married to Shirley Gresl. Wayne had many fond memories working for his father and brother in the family plumbing shop, and then as a City Inspector for the City of Kaukauna. Wayne lived in Kaukauna for most of his life until his retirement. After he retired, he and Shirley spent many happy winters at Hoopy's RV Park in San Jaun, TX, and summers at Shawano Lake. Wayne was a longtime Packer ticket holder, card club member, world traveler, and Friday Fish supporter with many family, friends, and close neighbors. He was a member of the Northeast Wisconsin Builders Assoc., the Wisconsin Plumbers Assoc., and the Kaukauna VFW Post 3319.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Shirley; five children, Vicki (William) Gooding, Appleton, Daniel (Bonnie Nastoff) VerKuilen, Black Creek, Steven (Michelle) VerKuilen, Pleasanton, CA, Richard (Patti Lauer) VerKuilen, Kaukauna, and Michael (Libby) VerKuilen, Peoria, IL; eight grandchildren, Angelica, Alex, Ben, Chris, Katie, Tracie, Max, and Trent; a brother, Ronald (Nancy) VerKuilen, Dallas, GA; a sister, Patricia Lamers, Combined Locks; brothers-in-law, Al (Carolyn) Gresl and Walter (Jackie) Gresl; sisters-in-law, Doris Gresl and Betty (Jim) Biese; and many nieces and nephews. He was further preceded in death by a granddaughter, Danielle.
A memorial service for Wayne will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at HIGHLAND MEMORIAL PARK, STAR OF HOPE CHAPEL MAUSOLEUM, 3131 N. Richmond St., Appleton, with Rev. Judy Deckert officiating. Wayne's family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday at the Mausoleum from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Obituary:
Lori F. Lamers, age 57, of Kaukauna, passed in the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Cherry Meadows. Her courageous battle with ovarian cancer has come to an end. She was our beacon of strength until the very end and will be missed by all of those have known her. For those of you that have truly known Lori, she chose to write her own obituary:
"I've had a great life! As I have said so many times, I would never change my life with anyone else. I've been blessed with so many GOOD friends and a huge loving family. McCain Foods was my employer for 28 years, until I could no longer work.
I was born on August 18, 1957, in Kaukauna to Frank and Patricia (Verkuilen) Lamers and was raised in Combined Locks. The second of nine children, my siblings include:
Gary Lamers, and his children: Sara (Paul) Wasmund, Emily Lamers and her daughters, Taylin and Tenley Lamers,
Lisa (Russ) Bowers, and their children: Aleana (Brad) Lindberg, and their daughter Graycn Lindberg, Monica Peeters and Ella Peeters ,
Lynn (Keith) Keller, and their children: Don and Marc Keller,
Lois (Tim) Collins and their children: Steven (Nichole) Schilcher and their children, Aubrey and Leland Schilcher; and Brian Schilcher and his son, Ben Schilcher; and Christopher Collins,

Lee Ann (Jaime) Schmitting, and their children: Ellie and Katie Schmitting,

and Leslie (Norb) Brunner.
I have been preceded in death by my father Frank J. Lamers and my grandparents, Arnold and Petronella Lamers, and Louis and Viola Verkuilen.
Thank you to all that have been by my side throughout my life. To all of the staff at St. Vincent Hospital, everyone was so wonderful to me. Also the Hospice staff that helped me stay in comfort at my home, which is where I wanted to be.

The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna.
