    Eli Pelky, 73, 1104 Smith St., New London, died at his home Monday at 5:30 p.m. after a six weeks illness. He was born March 18, 1887 in the town of Deer Creek, Wis. Mr. Pelky was a member of the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London and the Holy Name Society. He farmed in the town of Deer Creek until 1949, then moved to Bear Creek, later moving to New London in 1956 where he was an employee of Shaw Nursery.
    Survivors are his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Roland Heidke, Neenah; four brothers, Charles, Bear Creek, Louie, Wabeno, Isaac, Bear Creek, and John, Appleton; four sisters, Mrs. Josephine Roberts, Bear Creek, Mrs. Victoria Crian, New London, Mrs. Noah Ritchie, Rt. 2, New London, and Mrs. Edward Kelpinske, Appleton; four grandsons.
    Funeral services will be held at the Most Precious Blood Catholic church, New London, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock with burial in St. Mary's cemetery, Bear Creek. The Rev. Andrew Linsmeyer will officiate. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson funeral home, New London, after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
    Pallbearers will be Leon Konrad, Loy Malliet, Leo Knorad, Zona Ritchie, Merlin Kelpinski, and Eugene Pelky.

    Helen E. Guyette, (nee Pelky) 88, of Appleton, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Helen was born on June 2, 1921, to the late Charles and Eva (Leanna) Pelky in Deer Creek. She had worked at St. Elizabeth's for 10 years. Helen was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Ladies of St. Joseph and the Moose Lodge. She also enjoyed reading, traveling and fishing.
    Helen is survived by six children; Shirley Willems. Appleton; Donald (Elonda) Hammond, Appleton; Roger Hammond, Stevensville; Ed (Jane) Hammond, Appleton; Dave (Jean) Hammond, Appleton; Clark (Betty) Hammond, Greenville; 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
    Helen was preceded in death by her husbands: Clark Hammond and Russell Guyette; her daughters: Joan Ritschke and Betty Luedtke, her nine brothers and four sisters.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 2, 2009, at 11 a.m. at ST. JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence St., Appleton, with Father Larry Abler officiating. Friends may call on July 2, 2009, from 9 a.m. until the time of services at the Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
    The family would like to thank the nursing staff of St. Elizabeth's Hospital 2 south Wing for their wonderful care and support.

    Obituary:
    Age 95, of the Town of Maple Creek, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013. He was born on May 29, 1918 in the Town of Deer Creek, son of the late Nora and Laura (Pethke) Ritchie. On January 12, 1943 he married Hilda Jarvis. She preceded him in death on December 25, 2001. Leonard lived and farmed in the Town of Maple Creek, Outagamie County, for many years. He deeply loved his family and will be remembered for being a hard worker, making home made bread, canning, gardening and card playing. He could talk to anyone and was known for his unusual sayings. Leonard was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Bear Creek, never missing a Sunday Mass. He was baptized, married, and now will be buried at St. Mary's.
    He is survived by his children: Judy (Eugene) Fink, New London; Bev (Clay) Harrington, Culver, Indiana; Margaret (Gerald) Mischke, New London; Janet (Dale) Waterhouse, Antigo; Leonard Ritchie Jr., New London; 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; a son-in-law: Gene Fitzgerald, Phoenix, AZ; brother: Mathis Ritchie, Bear Creek; a sister-in-law: Mildred Gore, New London. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter Betty Fitzgerald, son David Ritchie, grandson Peter Hockers, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
    The Funeral Mass for Leonard will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Bear Creek with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A visitation for Leonard will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London, and also at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home

    Bear Creek - Matthias "Ty" Vernon Ritchie, age 91, of Bear Creek, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at ThedaCare Appleton. Mathias was born on July 10, 1926, to the late Noah and Laura (Pelky) Ritchie in the Town of Maple Creek. On October 6, 1948, he was united in marriage to the love of his life Eva Clinton in Clintonville. She preceded him in death in 2009. Ty served in the US Navy for 2 years. He farmed most of his early life and loved woodworking and chasing deer. Ty loved to spoil his grandbabies and go out to eat with his loved ones and friends. He could converse with anyone. He was an entertainer! Ty was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek.
    Ty is survived by his daughter, Donna (Richard "Cy") Simons; 3 grandchildren, Matthias (Samantha) Simons, Megan (Benjamin) Barrington and Amanda (Benjamin) Bruette; 3 step-grandsons, Jeff (Julie) Simons, Tyler (Marie) Simons and Aaron (Curry) Simons-Terry; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Millie Gore and brother-in-law, Leslie Behnke. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
    Ty was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eva and 9 siblings.
    A Mass of Christian Burial for Ty will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. Parish Director Lincoln Wood will be officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London and again at the CHURCH on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
    The family wishes to thank the staff at ThedaCare Hospital in Appleton for their exemplary care and concern for Ty.

    Heidke, Luella Luella Lorraine Heidke, of Neenah, age 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2013, at Matthews Senior Living of Neenah. She was born on July 1, 1925 in Bear Creek, WI, daughter of the late Eli and Mabel Pelky.Luella graduated from Bear Creek High School in 1943. Afterwards, she graduated from Beauty School in Appleton the same year. On August 20, 1947, she married Roland G. Heidke in Bear Creek. They were blessed with a family of six children. Luella always wanted to have a large family. They moved to Neenah in the spring of 1957, which was their home ever since.Luella was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah. When her children were younger she was an active member of the church including the 4H Club and Christmas events. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing cards, especially Canasta. Luella was an active parent and grandmother attending school, sporting, church, theater and musical events. In 1977, the family started the family restaurant, Jim's Drive Inn.     Obituary:
    Merlin E. Kelpinski, of Appleton, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in Waupaca. He was born on July 12, 1923 in Bear Creek, Wisconsin, the son of late Edward and Elizabeth (Pelke) Kelpinski. On September 20, 1944, Merlin married Mary Schuh at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly, she preceded him in death. He was employed for 40+ years at Fox River Paper Mill, retiring in 1985. Merlin and Mary enjoyed many happy years with their family and friends at the cottage on Stratton Lake. He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. Merlin enjoyed fishing, square dancing, and playing cards. He was known as "Mr. Fix It", and loved staying busy and being independent.
    Merlin is survived by his children: David (Anita) Kelpinski, Dianna Kelpinski, Dan Kelpinski and Debbie (Dave) Ganzen; grandchildren: Rick (Lynn) Kelpinski, Dawn (Ken) Marquardt, Kelly and John Ganzen; great grandchildren: Casey and Lindsay Kelpinski and Kristina (fiancé Will) Marquardt; and great great grandson: Owen. He is further survived by his sister: Mildred Berg; and sisters-in-law: Mona Kelpinski and Marion Kells. Merlin was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers: Orville Kelpinski and Victor Kells.
    The funeral liturgy for Merlin will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Fr. David J. Funk, OFM. CAP officiating.     Margie Riehl, age 83, of New London, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at New London Family Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Margie was born on October 28, 1926, daughter of the late Henry & Esther (Wichman) Pelky. On July 12, 1947, she married Roy W. Riehl in Appleton. He preceded her in death in 1992.
    She formerly worked at Flanagans Kraut Factory in Bear Creek for many years and also helped her husband run their shoe & lawnmower repair shop in Bear Creek. She was a self taught homemaker and will always be remembered as being smart and sassy by all who knew her. Margie enjoyed visiting with her family and friends at Bucky's Restaurant in New London. She was a lifelong member of the DAV Auxilary.
    She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Ethel "Snooky" and Martin Young, New London; Rose and Bryce Young, WestBend; Ella and Vernell Kratzke, Clintonville; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Harlen and Karla Riehl, New London; Paul Riehl (Marge Hauer), Colorado; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Karen Pelkey, New London, James and Winnie Pelky , Kaukauna. Two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Norbert Young, New London, Shirley and Richard Willes, Appleton. One sister-in-law, Ruth Pelky, Milwaukee. Margie is further survived by 24 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
    Besides her husband and parents, Margie was preceded in death by a daughter Lois, an infant son Leroy, four brothers, Harold, Leslie, Leo, George Pelky. Also two sisters, Marie Pelky and Ruth Lorge and two sisters-in-law, Rella and Joyce Pelky.
    Funeral services for Margie will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bear Creek with Rev. Paul Alliet officiating. Burial will be in the Danish Cemetery, Bear Creek. Visitation will be held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London from 4-8 p.m. Friday (TODAY), where a 7:30 p.m. Prayer Service will be held and at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Betty was born on June 8, 1943, to Clark and Helen (Pelky) Hammond in Bear Creek. She was married to the late Bud Smith and the late Don Luedtke. Betty was a long time member of the Moose Lodge and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

    David Hammond, age 58 of Appleton, passed away February 8, 2014 at Appleton Medical Center, following a brief but courageous battle with illness. Dave was born in Appleton on August 9, 1955, son of the late Clark and Helen (Pelky) Hammond. He was a 1974 graduate of Appleton West High School, and that same fall began working at Miller Electric. He remained at Miller for 40 years until his health failed. On Valentine's Day of 1975, Jean Vaughan became Dave's wife, and together the couple has enjoyed thirty-nine years of marriage, and was blessed with two children.
    Dave enjoyed spending time with friends fishing, hunting, throwing darts or watching NASCAR or football.
    He is survived by his wife: Jean Hammond of Appleton; two children: Lee (Angelee) Hammond of Appleton and Crystal (Leo) Valdez of Menasha; four grandchildren: Veronica, Jose, Maria, and Victoria Valdez; four brothers: Donald (Elonda) Hammond of Appleton; Ed (Jane) Hammond of Appleton; Roger Hammond of Stephensville; Clark (Betty) Hammond of Greenville; a sister: Shirley Willems of Appleton; and a special aunt: Selma Krueger of Appleton.     William Louis Heidke
    Neenah
    Age 50, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born November 25, 1948, in New London, son of Roland and Luella (Pelky) Heidke. Bill married Elizabeth Lenz on August 12, 1972, in Neenah. He was a member of Saint Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah. Bill was the Technical Director of Pickard Auditorium, Neenah. Theater was his passion; anyone who visited Pickard or viewed a show there probably saw him or witnessed his talent.
    Bill is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, his parents, Roland and Luella Heidke, Neenah; his children, Rebecca, Michael and Kristine, all at home; three brothers, Robert (Nancy), Oshkosh, Jim (Cathy), Muskego, and Dan, Shawano; one sister, Mary (Jay) Brehmer, Green Bay; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry.
    Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday June 18, 1999, at Saint Gabriel Church with the Rev. Richard Allen officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, Neenah. Friends may call at the church from 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
    A special thank you to all the doctors and nurses of the Critical Care Unit at Theda Clark Medical Center for all their assistance.

    Age 42, beloved husband and father, died Saturday December 6, 1997, at his home. He was born April 29, 1955 in New London, son of Roland and Luella (Pelky) Heidke. Jerry was married to Mary Cross on June 4, 1976 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Menasha. He was employed 25 years with Stowe Woodward and was Vice President of Local 1855. He was a member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church. Jerry is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Faith of Neenah, his parents, his mother in law Bernice Cross, Menasha; his sister, Mary (Jay) Heidke Brehmer, Green Bay; four brothers, Bill (Bette) Heidke of Neenah, Bob (Nancy) Heidke of Oshkosh, Jim (Cathy) Heidke of Milwaukee, and Dan, Neenah. He was preceded in death by his father in law, Russell Cross. Funeral services will be Monday, December 8, at 7 p.m. at St. Timothy Lutheran Church with Rev. James Plymire officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill cemetery. Friends can call on Monday at Westgor Funeral Home from 2 pm until 4:30 pm. Visitation will continue at the church from 6 p.m. until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
