    Obituary:
    Orwald W. Tews, age 86, New London, formerly of Fremont, passed away as the result of a stroke on Monday, July 19, 2010, at Theda Clark Hospital, Neenah. Orwald was born on October 4, 1923, in Fremont, son of the late Walter and Clara (Drews) Tews. He was united in marriage to Irma Ehart (Strube) on May 4, 1973. She preceded him in death in 2007. Orwald lived and farmed in the Fremont area his entire life.
    He was a lifelong member at Zion Lutheran Church, Fremont and held various positions and was very active in the Lutheran Church Extension Fund of St. Louis and a supporter of the Lutheran Hour Ministries. He also supported the Rawhide Boys Ranch, New London. He enjoyed going on day trips and working in his saw mill at his house. He was a former Town of Caledonia Supervisor for over 20 years.
    Orwald is survived by a step-daughter, Carol (Fred) Kuhn, Signal Mountain, TN; step-son, Fred Ehart, Missoula, MT; a brother, Arden (Eileen) Tews, Town of Menasha; two sisters: Ruth (Burnell) Nemmetz, Manawa; and Arline Tews, Appleton; step-grandchildren, Nicole and Katherine and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Besides his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a sister, Loretta Tews.
    Funeral services for Orwald will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Fremont with Rev. Doug Reinders officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery , Caledonia Township. Visitation will be held at the church Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

    Harold L. Tews, age 87, New London, went to his eternal home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 18, 2011, at Theda Clark Hospital, following a short illness. Harold was born on November 4, 1924, in Caledonia Township son of the late Erwin and Edna (Drews) Tews. On September 19, 1953, he was united in marriage to Marlene Forster at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London. Harold owned and operated Sunnyside Dairy Cheese Factory in Readfield for many years. He was also employed at Tews Inc. in New London until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and was a member of a Barber Shop Quartet that he enjoyed singing in. Harold served his country in the US Army in WWII. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London.
    Harold is survived by his wife Marlene; his children, Peter (Nancy) Tews, Dodgeville; Kathleen (Tim) Trauger, Appleton; Brian (Jeannie) Tews, Appleton and Steven Tews, Neenah. A sister, Judith (Bill) Mattlin, Stevens Point. Grandchildren, Jacob (Leith), David (Kaili), Lauren and John Tews; Benjamin and Jessica Trauger and Alexander and Joshua Tews. Great-grandchildren: Eliana, Quinton and Sara Tews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Ed, Roger and Gordon and a sister, Audrey Fenske.
    Funeral Services for Harold will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2011 and also at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
    The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Theda Clark Medical Center and New London Family Medical for all their thoughtfulness and care of Harold during his illness.

    Lyle L. Tews, age 79, of Fremont, joined the heavenly choir of angels on Friday, October 31, 2008, at the Weyauwega Health Care Center. He was born on September 21, 1929, in the Town of Caledonia, the son of the late Lorenz and Frieda (Fuhrmann) Tews. On July 15, 1961, Lyle was united in marriage to Shirley Springstroh at Riverview Lutheran Church in Appleton. Lyle farmed his entire life in the Town of Caledonia. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in the Town of Caledonia where he served on the church council in several offices, namely finance committee chairman, treasurer, elder, and served on the building committee. He was also a member of the Lutherans Laymen League. Lyle's interest and love of music was evident by his many years in Zion's choir. He also sang in the choir while attending New London High School. He participated in the FFA while in high school and was a member of their quartet that went to National competition in Kansas City. All who knew Lyle were aware of his keen interest in cars and trucks, especially GM models. His knowledge of the makes and their available accessories was impeccable. Lyle loved to read and travel. He planned many trips that he and Shirley enjoyed over the years.
    Lyle is survived by his wife, Shirley, a son, Todd (Lois), Fremont, and their daughters, Olivia and Sydney, a sister, Lois (Walter) Hoewisch, Greenville, a brother, Rollin "Jim" (Diana) Tews, New London, two brothers-in-law, Roland (Diana) Springstroh, Lexington, NC, and Wayne (Candace) Springstroh, Appleton, five nephews and five nieces, other relatives and friends.
    Lyle was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Herbert and Ella Springstroh.
    Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 3, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, E9016 Marsh Road in the Town of Caledonia. Rev. Doug Reinders will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday at the Lewin Funeral Home, Fremont, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established for Zion Lutheran Church.
    Lyle's family would like to extend a special Thank You to the Weyauwega Health Care Center for their compassion and care during Lyle's stay.
