    Alois Michael Sonn leitner, died Monday, August 6th, 2001, in Longview. He was 81. Mr. Sonn leitner was born September 29th, 1919, in Oshkosh Wisconsin, to John N. a nd Mary (Maier) Sonnleitner. Alois, his six brothers and two sisters we re first-generation Americans. Alois' father was a cabinetmaker who immig rated from Linz Austria. His mother's family was from Cologne, German y. Mr. Sonnleitner married Mildred Romenesko June 8th, 1940 in Freedom Wi sconsin. Mr. Sonnleitner was preceded in death by his wife on April 28t h, 1987; his parents; three brothers, John A. Sonnleitner, Carl Sonnleitne r, and Otto Sonnleitner; and two sisters Elizabeth Sonnleitner and Mary "S ister Theorita." Mr. Sonnleitner is survived by a son, Gary M. Sonnleitn er of Longview; a daughter, Deborah Ann and her husband Robert Hawk of Par agould Ark.; five of grandchildren, Megan, April, Jessica, and Jacquely n, and Jimmy; his brothers and sisters in law, Harold and Mary Sonnleitne r, Gene and Patricia Sonnleitner, of Oshkosh Wisconsin, Theresa Sonnleitn er of Albuquerque New Mexico; his close friends and their children John a nd Avon Rock of McMinnville Oregon: John, Michael, Jeffrey, Timothy and Je anne; and his beloved dog, Sparky. Alois was a man of many parts. He w as musically gifted. He played the saxophone, trombone and accordion. M r. Sonnleitner love to tell about how as a teenager he played the saxopho ne to packed stadium at Chicago's Soldiers Field. Mr. Sonnleitner enlist ed in the Air Force, where he worked in intelligence. Following his milit ary service, he and his wife Mildred settled in McMinnville Oregon whe re he developed the Archway cookie franchise in the Pacific Northwes t. In the mid-1950s, Mr. Sonnleitner received the honor of outstanding bu sinessman in McMinnville. In 1969 he and Mildred moved to Longview, whe re he pursued many successful business interests. He believed in hard wo rk and never retired. Mr. Sonnleitner continued to work up until the d ay of his death. Mr. Sonnleitner was a devout in his faith and would oft en mentioned to his friends that he remembered them in his prayers at nigh t. He also wrote poetry to celebrate his wife, grandchildren, and the goo dness of the Almighty. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in S t. Raphael Catholic Church in Oshkosh Wisconsin, with Reverend Dan Felt on officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

    Alois Michael Sonnleitner Alois Michael Sonnleitner died Monday, August 6, 2001 in Longview, Tex as at the age of 81. He was born on September 29, 1919 in Oshkosh, Wiscons in to John N. and Mary M. Sonnleitner where he and his six brothers and t wo sisters were first generation Americans. His father was a cabinet mak er who emigrated from Linz, Austria and his mother's family was from Colog ne, Germany.On June 8, 1940, Al was married to Mildred Romenesko in Freedom, Wiscons in who died on April 28, 1987. He is survived by a daughter, Debra (Rober t) Hawk of Para Gould, AR and grandchildren, April, Jacquelyn, Jessica a nd James, and by two sons, Gary of Longview, TX and granddaughter, Megan a nd John (Avon) Rock of Dayton, OR and grandchildren, John Jr., Michael, Je ffrey, Timothy and Jeanne. In addition, he is survived by two brothers, Ha rold (Mary) and Dr. Eugene (Patricia) both of Oshkosh WI, and a sister-in- law, Theresa Sonnleitner of Albuquerque NM and many nieces and nephew s. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Sparky. He was preceded in dea th by his parents and by his brothers John A., Carl, Otto and George Sonnl eitner and by his sisters Elizabeth O'Connell and Sister Theorita (Mary) S onnleitner.Alois was a man of many parts. He was musically gifted and played the saxo phone, trombone and accordion. He loved to tell about how, as a teenage r, he played the saxophone to a packed stadium at Chicago's Soldier Fiel d. When he enlisted in the armed forces, he was placed in intelligen ce in the Air Force during World War II. Following his military servic e, he and Mildred settled in McMinnville Or where he developed the Archw ay Cookie franchise in the Pacific Northwest. In the mid 1950's, he receiv ed the honor of Outstanding Businessman in McMinnville.In 1969, he and Mildred moved to Longview TX where he pursued many success ful business interests.
