    Dale - Adrian Ewalt Sommer, 89, formerly of Dale, passed away on Friday February 16 at Brewster Village, Appleton WI. He lived most of his life in the Dale area before retiring to Three Lakes, WI. In 2016, he and Nila made the move south and were residence of TouchMark, Appleton, WI. He was born on February 8, 1929 to Ewalt (Fat) Sommer and Martha (Beckman) Sommer.
    Adrian graduated from Washington High School in New London.
    He married Nila Diley on November 5, 1949 at United Congregational Church in Dale.
    Adrian started working in his family's business Service Motor Company, Dale as a mechanic, then in sales, and became owner and president in 1966. In the 1970's Service Motor Company became one of the largest JI Case dealerships in the United States. Adrian was involved in every aspect of the business. He and Nila worked side by side every day. They traveled to numerous worldwide locations on business trips. Adrian & Nila along with other couples started the "Dale Trailblazers" snowmobile club. He was a dedicated member of the Dale Fire Department and Dale Community Club.
    In 1986, his son Jim became the 4th generation president of Service Motor Co. Adrian worked along side Jim in the business until 1999. He and Nila then retired and moved to their home on Virgin Lake in Three Lakes where they resided until 2016.
    Upon retirement Adrian's woodworking skills began. He would harvest trees from his property and with the use of his sawmill, supplied the lumber and logs needed for his projects. He built a wide variety of furniture for his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. He and Nila enjoyed their days working outside, watching the wildlife, and visiting with their neighbors.
    Adrian was known for his stories and jokes, which he was willing to share with everyone. He left you laughing.
    He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his sons Thomas and Tony, grandson Anton Thomas, his daughter-in-law Kay Sommer, brother and sister-in-laws Clair and Beverly Sommer, and brother and sister-in-law, Duane "Peewee" and Marlene Sommer.
    Adrian is survived by his wife of 68 years Nila, son James (Marie) Sommer, daughter LuAnn (Bill) Stern and daughter in-law Kathy Beyer. Grandchildren: Kimberlee Sommer, Kara Sommer, Kevin (Rachel) Sommer, Kent (Maraen) Sommer, Kyle (Nicole) Sommer, Korey Sommer, Kristen (Kurt) Wondra, Ted (Melissa) Sommer, Todd (Rachal) Sommer, Tim (Cindy) Sommer, Tina (Nathan) Miller, Matt (Alicia Eggert) Stern, Mike (Kari) Stern and numerous great-grandchildren.
    The family would like to extend their thanks to TouchMark and Brewster Village for the wonderful care Adrian received.
    Funeral services for Adrian will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in the Dale Union Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers a memorial fund in Adrian's name has been established.

    Clair E. Sommer, 83, of Appleton, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014 at his home, with his family
    Clair was born on August 4, 1930 in Dale, to the late Ewalt and Martha (Beckman) Sommer. Clair spent his early life in the Dale area, graduating from New London High School. Following High School he served in the US Army, during the Korean Conflict. On June 20, 1955 he was united in marriage to his wife of 50 years Beverly Ann Bauer. Beverly preceded him in death on August 29, 2005.
    Clair was a manager for Service Motor Company at the New Franken store. After he retired he was a security guard at the Outagamie Airport. Clair loved to be busy and on the go, he was an active member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church, and the Kiwanis Golden K's. He also volunteered with the Boys and Girls club in Appleton, the Salvation Army, Clothes Closet, and at the Appleton Medical Center. Clair truly loved spending time with his grandsons. He enjoyed deer hunting at the Dale Duck Inn, fishing, spending time gardening, and in his younger years he was an avid golfer. Clair had a great sense of humor, and enjoyed sharing his jokes with family and friends.
    Clair is survived by his daughter Lisa (Jim) Neumann of Appleton, his grandsons; Jacob and Tyler, his brother Adrian (Nila) Sommer of Three Lakes, brother-in-laws Roger (Jeanne) Bauer of Neenah and Henry (Joann) Bauer of Appleton, and his girlfriend Lucille Marquardt of Appleton. Clair was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly, and brother Duane.
    Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Mount Olive Lutheran Church 930 E. Florida Ave. Appleton with Rev. Robert Raasch officiating. Burial will take place on Wednesday at 3:00 PM at Highland Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the CHURCH.
    In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Old Glory Honor Flight.
    The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Lucy Marquardt for the unsurpassed love and companionship she and Clair shared over the past three years.
    They would also like to thank all of the doctors and nurses for their care and support they gave him over the past 7 months.

    Kaukauna - Diane Randerson, age 66, was called home unexpectedly but peacefully on Thursday afternoon at her Kaukauna home. Diane was born in Appleton on May 16, 1952, daughter of the late Jerome and Dorothy (Kimball) Wallenfang. She attended the Outagamie County Teachers College and UW-Oshkosh. She then went on teach at St. John's School in Little Chute as well as in the Denmark School District. In 1974, Diane married Mike McCormick and their marriage was blessed by three children. Mike preceded her in death in 1991. In 1994, Diane married Gene "Geno" Randerson, and together they enjoyed traveling, seeking out new restaurants, and attending sporting evenings. In her retirement, Diane very much enjoyed her part-time job at Piggly Wiggly in Kaukauna.
    She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed the holidays and hosting Packer parties on Sunday afternoons. Diane loved to plant flowers, visit thrift shops, and spend time up north. She was talented in many things, including baking desserts, decorating cakes, and sewing custom Halloween costumes for her grandkids.
    Diane is survived by her husband: Geno Randerson of Kaukauna; three loving children: Katie (Nick) LaFave of Appleton, Maggie (Kevin) Vonck of Green Bay, and Michael (Erica) McCormick of DePere; six grandchildren: Danica, Harper, Josephine, Scarlett, Theodore, and Lucy. She also leaves behind two brothers and a sister: Jerry (Peggy) Wallenfang of Darboy, Mark (Maureen) Wallenfang of Appleton, and Patricia Wallenfang of Texas. Gene's brothers and sisters include Barb (Russ) Sulewski of Oshkosh, Jim (Jyl) Randerson of Kaukauna, Patti Randerson of Appleton, Kathleen Randerson of France, Brian (Betsy) Randerson of North Fond du Lac, and Boyd (Kelly) Randerson of Combined Locks. Diane is also survived by members of the McCormick family: Pat McCormick of St. Louis, Timm (Deb) McCormick of Little Chute, Erin (Rich) Quella of Kaukauna, and George "Porgie" Burton of Kaukauna.
    Diane was preceded in death by her parents, and a former sister-in-law Bev McCormick.
    The funeral liturgy for Diane will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
    In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a memorial fund for one of Diane's favorite charities.
