Obituary:
Delane Hansen, 73, Luxemburg, died late Monday evening, Aug. 6, 2007, after many complications with her health. Born Aug. 14, 1933, in Valley City, N.D., she is the daughter of the late Charles and Alma Horkman. It was Delane's life-long dream to become a nurse and was very proud of receiving her degree as a Li-censed Practical Nurse. She married Howard Hansen on March 8, 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Delane was a charter member of Atonement Lutheran Church. She loved working with youth, including church youth group, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, PTA, and most importantly providing care for her grandchildren. In later years, she donated many hours in the care of others through Unity Hospice.
Delane is survived by her husband of 55 years, Howard; one daughter and son-in-law, Nona and Doug Litzelman and their daughters, Clare and Kristin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jae and Marcianne Hansen and their daughter, Bailey, Luxemburg; and Robbin and Nina Hansen and their children, Jeremy, Laura, and Joseph, Springville, N.Y.; three brothers, Fabian "Bud" (friend Pat), Chaney, (Joan) and Lauren (Karen)
Also preceded in death by one sister, Norma; one brother, Jearly.
Friends may call at Malcore (East) Funeral Home, University Avenue at Baird Street, Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. Gathering of friends will continue Friday at Atonement Lutheran Church, Deckner Avenue at Danz Avenue, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial service 11 a.m. Friday at the church with Roald Harswick officiating.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to Unity Hospice in Delane's memory.
The family appreciates the excellent care received at Parkview Manor Nursing Home.
