Obituary:
Winifred D. Coenen, age 74, of 3720 E. Hillcrest Road, Two Rivers, died Thursday afternoon, July 29, 2004, at her residence.
Private family services were held on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2004, at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy. 310, Manitowoc. Deacon Phil Andrastek officiated at the service. Cremation has taken place.
Winifred was born April 29, 1930, in Two Rivers, a daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Mueller) Loeser. She attended St. John?s Parochial School and Two Rivers Washington High School, graduating with the class of 1948. She was married to Albert E. Klabunde and together the couple had two children, Ervin and Susan. Albert preceded her in death on March 16, 1957. Winifred then married Wesley Coenen on Nov. 9, 1957, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Ervin and Susan were then adopted by Wesley, and together the couple had six more children.
Winifred and Wesley operated a dairy farm in the town of Two Rivers for many years. She also enjoyed sewing clothes, knitting, and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her husband: Wesley; four daughters and three sons-in-law: Sue and Gene Alaperet, Kathy and Bruce Buyeske, all of Two Rivers, Liz and Duwayne Ochs, and Mary Salomon, all of Manitowoc; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Erv and Katie Coenen, Two Rivers, John Coenen and fiancee, LeeRae Hynek, Manitowoc; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Carlson, Two Rivers. She is further survived by several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law which include: Marvelyn Loeser, Nevada, Emmett Coenen, Doris (Donald) Koch, Kenneth Coenen, all of Two Rivers, Francis (Ruth) Coenen, Sheboygan, Raymond (Elaine) Coenen, Two Rivers, Sandra Coenen, Florida, Dale (Gail) Coenen, Mishicot, Judy (Bill) Bodwin, Two Rivers; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Albert; a daughter, Karen; a son, David; one sister, Esther Becker; and three brothers, Harold, Howard and Robert Loeser.
