    Obituary:
    Howard G. Rickert, 95, Green Bay, died Thursday, May 9, 2013. He was born February 5, 1918, in Black Creek, to George and Jessie (Shackett) Rickert.
    On September 6, 1941, Howard married Frances Sucharsky. They enjoyed square dancing, traveling, and many other activities. They took many bus trips and traveled to Hawaii twice. She preceded him in death on November 1, 1994. After Frances' death, Howard continued his love of traveling, making a trip to the Holy Land and taking a Caribbean cruise.
    Howard was employed by Cutler Hammer in Milwaukee and later worked at Hoberg Paper Mill and Proctor & Gamble Paper Mill. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Braves and Brewers. Howard enjoyed playing horseshoes, volleyball, card games, cribbage and bowling. He also loved music and played the guitar frequently. Howard was a member of the Memory Makers Band who played together for 15 years at nursing homes and residential care homes. He loved old cars. He drove a Corvair and was a member of the Corvair Club. Howard also enjoyed reading, researching family history, and flying in small airplanes with friends. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Howard is survived by his three children and their spouses, Donald and Neala Rickert, Marilyn Grotbeck, Mary Jo and Paul Schlimgen; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Walter Sucharsky; and nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his wife; an infant son, Joseph; his parents; a son-in-law, Arne Grotbeck; and seven brothers and sisters.
    Friends may call at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Msgr. James Dillenburg officiating. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family.
