    Obituary:
    Rodney "Pudge" Van Lanen, 55, a Green Bay resident, died unexpectedly Monday, November 9, 2015, at a local hospital. He was born January 26, 1960, in Green Bay to the late Orville and Irene (VandenHouten) Van Lanen. Pudge attended Preble High School, graduating in 1978. He was employed by DeGroot Construction from 1978 until 1994. Pudge was then employed by the Green Bay Water Utility until his retirement this past year. He also owned and operated Affordable Lawn Care, as well as an antique dealer. Pudge was a longtime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. He will always be remembered as a hardworking, loving father and grandfather.
    He is survived by two daughters, Vanessa Van Lanen and Chantel Van Lanen, both of Green Bay; their mother, Sandra Van Lanen, Florida; He was blessed with two granddaughters, Kaylee Jones and Aleigha Rathbun, who were the apples of his eyes; seven siblings, Milton (Jean) Van Lanen, Barbara (Peter) Beyer, Shirley Huxford, all of Green Bay; Sandie (Paul) Dorner, Luxemburg; David Van Lanen, Green Bay; Michael (Patti) Van Lanen, New Franken; Loretta (Alvin) Beyer, New Franken; his Godfather and Uncle, John Burckle, Wausau; his fiancee, Judi Pekarek, Green Bay; nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Van Lanen, an infant sister, Theresa; his fiancée, Mary Porod, many aunts and uncles.
    Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 743 S. Monroe Ave., after 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church with Rev. Paul Schleis officiating. Burial in Mellen Township Cemetery, Wallace, Michigan. On-line condolences may be sent to the Van Lanen family at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund had been established.
