    See image Isaac Acker Chilton Times September 18, 1920 AGED VETERAN CALLED Isaac Ackers of this city, the well known veteran of the civil war, a pioneer of this state, died Tuesday evening, August 31st, of diseases incidental to old age. Mr. Ackers, who was 82 years old, had been in a state of coma for several days previous to his death, has, with his wife, made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Ross Grignon, from whose residence the funeral services were held this morning the Rev. E. L. Worthman of Immanuel Reformed Church officiating. In token of respect for their departed comrade the members of the Paul H. Beaulieu, GAR Post and the WRC attended the funeral in a body. Isaac Ackers was born at Galion, Ohio, on March 3, 1837, and came in early life to Wisconsin and enlisted at Chilton in the Twenty-First Wisconsin Infantry on August 11th, 1862. He was severely wounded at the battle of Champions Ill and in consequence of disability from his wounds was honorably discharged from service March 4, 1862. He is survived by his wife and daughter, Mrs. Ross Grignon. - Kaukauna Times."

    Mrs. Ross Grignon, 87, the last immediate member of the Grignon family, died Sunday at St. Elizabeth hospital Appleton. Edith married Ross Grignon, the son of Charles and Mary Grignon on Nov. 24, 1884. Ross's grandfather was Augustine Grignon. The Grignon home built in 1839 was known as "The Mansion in the Woods".
