Obituary:
Helen I. Schumann, age 101, of Appleton, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Appleton Health Care. She was born on October 4, 1909 in Appleton; daughter of Leo and Susan (Arndt) Lesselyoung. On November 28, 1930, she married Gilbert A. Schumann. She lived in Appleton all her life and was a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Helen enjoyed music, reading and cross stitching.
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Judy (Bob) Arnoldussen, Appleton; grandchildren, Gary (Ann) Arnoldussen and their children, Sara and Katie, Mike Arnoldussen and his son, Brent, Debbie Jilek, Jeff Jilek and his children, Julie and Michael, Jim (Pam) Jilek and their children, Karen, Lori and Kris and John (Robin) Jilek and their children, Colin, Kylie and Kathrine.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert, daughter, Virginia Jilek, grandson, Steven Arnoldussen, brother, Louis Lesselyoung and a sister, Marie Hammer.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Helen will be held on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State St., Appleton with Fr. Jim Leary officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Monday from 9 - 11 a.m. Interment will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established.
