Kettenhoven, Catherine "Cathy" Miller
Catherine "Cathy" Miller Kettenhoven passed away on December 8, 2008, at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife of the late William Kettenhoven. She was the dear mother of Nancy (Henry) Mills, Kathy Zaug, and Carol (Nicholas) Dussault; and a loving "Grandma Kate" to Charlie, Sarah, Andrew, William and Christine, as well as "Great Grandma Kate" to Matthew and Tara Lynn. She is also survived by her brothers: Ray (Marie) Miller and Harold (Doris) Miller.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Phillip (Barbara) and Leo (Anne) Miller.
She was born November 15, 1916, to the late John and Hedwig "Hattie" (Wimmer) Miller of Menasha. Cathy attended St. Mary's School in Menasha, and worked briefly, before marrying the love of her life, Bill, on June 21, 1941. They enjoyed a happy life together until Bill's death in 1979. Cathy enjoyed gardening, playing cards, traveling, playing the organ and piano, singing in the Sweet Adelines, and golfing. She was a life-long learner who enjoyed taking classes on many different topics.
In the last year, although her health was failing, Cathy's mind was always clear and sharp. She loved to read and to follow and discuss politics. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 12, 2008, from 5-8 p.m. at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, and again at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton. Father Dennis Ryan is the celebrant.
A memorial fund will be established in her name for the American Heart Association.
Cathy will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed.
