    Obituary:
    Harold E. Kettner Route 1, Black Creek Age 66, passed away Wednesday forenoon following a short illness. He was born November 20, 1906 in the township of Bovina, the son of Mrs. Emma Kettner and the late Edward Kettner Sr. He farmed at his present address for the past 34 years. In 1937 he was united in marriage to Miss Mabel Schimmelpfennig. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek, and on the Board of Directors for the Pure Milk Products. Survivors include his wife, Mabel; one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Ruth) Barrington, New London; two sons, Merlin, Black Creek; Harold Jr., at home; five grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Emma Kettner, Black Creek; four brothers, Ervin, Neenah; Raymond and Edward, Jr., both of Black Creek; Orville, Green Bay; two sisters, Mrs. Henry (Verona) Diehl, Menasha; and Mrs. Henry (Lucille) Boelter, Shiocton. His father and one brother preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Black Creek, with Rev. Arden Wood officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton Friends may call at the Muehl Funeral Home, Black Creek, after 2 p.m. on Friday.

    Raymond R. Kettner Black Creek, Wisconsin Age 65, passed away early Sunday afternoon in an Appleton hospital following an illness of several months. He was born June 18, 1909 in Black Creek where he was a lifelong resident. Prior to his retirement two years ago he was employed for 27 years by the Murphy Construction Co. On June 23, 1934 he married Meta Denow in Black Creek. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Black Creek. The survivors are his wife; a son, Paul of Black Creek; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Naomi) Hart- leben of Rt 1. Black Creek; his mother, Mrs. Emma Kettner of Black Creek; two sisters. Mrs. Henry (Verona) Diehl of Menasha, and Mrs. Henry (Lucille) Boelter of Shiocton; two brothers, Ervin of Menasha, and Edward of Black Creek; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Immanuel! Lutheran Church in Black Creek with the Rev. Arden Wood officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.     Verona E. Diehl, age 91, of New London, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2008, at St. Joseph Residence in New London. Verona was born on February 19, 1917, in Black Creek, daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Rahn) Kettner. On February 17, 1941, she was united in marriage to Henry J. Diehl in Appleton. He preceded her in death on March 17, 1977. Verona was a loving wife, mother and a devoted Christian.
    She was a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aide at Bethel Lutheran Church in Menasha and at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. She was also involved in bible study groups and was recognized for her volunteer hours at the New London Senior Center. Verona loved playing cards, bingo and dart ball. She will be well remembered for her excellent cooking and baking skills.
    Verona is survived by a daughter, Shirley (Charles) Martin, Topeka, KS; a son, Kenneth (Sue) Diehl, New London; grandchildren: Brenda (Mike) Beaudoin, Calgary Alberta, Canada; David (Patricia) Voss, Lawrence, KS; Scott (Cindy) Shaw, New London; Mike (Heather) Shaw, New London; Amy (Rod) Golla, New London; Charles (Chrissie) Martin, Topeka, KS; Susan (Mark) Allshouse, Hickory, NC; great-grandchildren: Christopher Voss, Rae and Eva Shaw, Grace Golla, Cristen, Elizabeth and Christopher Lukowiak, Kyle Beaudoin, Olivia Martin and Jonathan and Brandon Allshouse; a great-great-grandchild, Jozelyn English. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
    Besides her parents and husband, Verona is preceded in death by six brothers: Harold, Orville, Ervin, Raymond, Carlton, and Edward Kettner; and a sister, Lucille Boelter.
    Funeral services for Verona will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Fox Valley Lutheran High School or St. Joseph Residence.

    Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the lord with all thine heart…..Merlin "Tobe" A. Kettner, 77, of Black Creek, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center, Appleton. He was born June 4, 1939, son of the late Harold and Mabel (Schimmelpfenig) Kettner.
    He was united in marriage to Doris Genske on April 23, 1960 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Black Creek. Tobe remained a faithful member at Immanuel Lutheran throughout the years.
    Tobe worked for the Village of Black Creek for 41 years. He and Doris were named Black Creek Citizens of the year in 2011.
    Tobe enjoyed fishing with his friends, hunting, and being outdoors. He could fix and make parts for almost anything that needed fixing. Above all, he was a great friend to many and loved his family with all his heart.
    He is survived by his wife, Doris; his children: Christine Kettner, Connie (Bill) Doersch, Corey (Connie) Kettner; and two grandchildren: Masin and Emma Kettner; sister, Ruth (Mike) Barrington; brother, Harold (Karol) Kettner. Further survived by in-laws: Lorraine Remmel, Lee (Diane) Genske, Rolland (Judy) Genske, and Rosella Kettner. Also, survived by nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by brothers-in-law: Donald Remmel and Paul Kettner; sister-in-law, Arlene (Jack) Huse; niece, Sara; nephews: Paul and Jeremy.
    Friends may call at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 201 E. Birch Street, Black Creek, on Monday, March 6, 2017, from 4-8 pm and visitation will continue at the church on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 9:00 am until services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Steve Schlicht and Pastor John Brandt officiating.     In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Tobe's memory.
