    Richard A. Kilawee, 75, Amherst, Wis., passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011, at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point, Wis. He was born May 2, 1936, in Lewiston, Maine, son of Patrick and Theresa (Schwinn) Kilawee. On July 25, 1959, Richard married Patricia Reitz in Milwaukee, Wis. He served in the U.S. Air Force from Feb. 16, 1954 to Nov. 1, 1957.
    Richard and Patricia raised miniature horses on their farm in Bancroft, where they competed nationally. He was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed the outdoors, where he hunted and fished. Richard was a member of the American Legion Post #339 of Almond. He will be deeply missed by all his loving family and friends.
    Richard is survived by his wife, Patricia Kilawee, Amherst, Wis.; daughters, Kathleen (Robert) Luna, Denver, Colo.; Kelly (John) Everson, Amherst, Wis.; son, Michael (Lisa) Kilawee, Sioux Falls, S.D.; granddaughter, Rowen Kilawee, Sioux Falls, S.D.; step-grandchildren, Nicholas and Carissa Luna; brother, Francis Kilawee, Andover, Maine; sisters, Margaret Kilawee, Bailey's Harbor, Wis.; Della Milbach, Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; Victoria Sullivan, Kaukauna, Wis.; sisters-in-law, Lois Kilawee-Bozile, Odessa, Fla.; and Barbara Kilawee, Sugarland, Texas. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Theresa Kilawee; four brothers, Father Ivo, Martin, Joseph and Charles Kilawee; two sisters, Patricia (Dean) Ekstrom and Sister Marie Kilawee; and three brothers-in-law, William Milbach, Clarence Sullivan and Ronald (Lynn) Reitz.
    A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, Hwy. 54 between Waupaca and Plover, Town of Buena Vista, Wis. Fr. Daniel Farley will preside. A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in the Town of Lanark, following the Mass on Wednesday. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements.
