Obituary:
Norman "Norm" L. Balthazor, 70, died at home on Friday, April 10, 2009, with his family by his side following a strong four year battle with cancer. Norm was born April 1, 1939, in the Township of Maple Creek, son of the late Casper and Gertrude (Simonis) Balthazor. On June 2, 1973, Norm was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Betty) Hutchison. Throughout his life, Norm enjoyed many activities, including gardening, woodworking, fishing and farming. He also loved to polka.
Norm is survived by his wife, Betty; and children, Dan (Tammy) La Marche, Green Bay; Laurie (Don) Carlton, Little Suamico; Jan (Mike) Russert, Pleasant Prairie; Sarah Balthazor, Wisconsin Rapids; Beth (Joel) Ombati, Woodville; Jill Balthazor, Appleton; and Nathan Balthazor, Sugar Bush. He is further survived by his brother, Helerian (Dorothy) Balthazor, Royalton; sisters, Carol (Tom) Rebman, New London; and Donna (Jerold) Jenkins, New London; sisters-in-law, Donna Balthazor and Jeanne Balthazor; and brothers-in-law, Harold Schweitzer and John Guyette. Norm is also survived by his grandchildren, Davis, Marcus, Sawyer, Olivia, Elizabeth, Everett, Davina, Kendra, Sarena, Maya and Madeline.
Norm was preceded in death by his sisters, Marcella Guyette, Rita Schweitzer and Elaine Wright; and also by his brothers, Sam and Dennis Balthazor.
The funeral service for Norman will take place on Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London, with Fr. David Lewis officiating. Friends and family are invited to call Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London, from 4 to 7 p.m. and also at Most Precious Blood on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the Most Precious Blood Parish Cemetery following the service.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Goggins and the entire nursing staff at Fox Valley Hematology for the continuous love and support of Norm.
