Obituary:
Died At her home, on Washington Street, on Tuesday, June 3rd, Mrs. Allagunda Sprangers aged 76 years, 2 months and 25 days. Allagunda VanTreeck was born in the Rhine Province, Germany, March 9, 1826. In 1849 she came to America and located in Sheboygan County where she was married the same year to John Sprangers. Some fifteen years ago her husband died and in 1890 she moved to this city where she has since resided. For two months past she has been in poor health. The funeral took place on Thursday from St. Mary's Catholic church and was largely attended by relatives and friends who knew and respected her.
She leaves three sons, five daughters and other relatives to mourn her death.

Biography:
REV. JOSEPH A. VAN TREECK is a pastor of St. John the Baptist's Church at Plymouth, which is located on the corner of Main and Pleasant Streets. Rev. Father Haider held services at this place as early as 1861. Father Haider was the faithful and popular pastor of the Catholic congregation at Sheboygan, and it was through his influence that the church building at Plymouth was created. It was attended from Sheboygan, and by reverend fathers from Mt. Calvary, as a mission. But for several years before the coming of the present pastor, whose service began on the first Sunday in August, 1891, it had no pastor.
Father Van Treeck has made important and substantial improvements during his pastoral charge. Under his administration an addition has been made to the church building, improvements have been made to the grounds, and a pastor's residence was erected in the fall of 1891. The congregation is composed of about forty-five families. Father Van Treeck also attends a mission at Glenbeulah, that congregation numbering about the same as the one at Plymouth.
Father Van Treeck is a representative of a pioneer family of Sheboygan County, his father being Peter Jacob Van Treeck, a sketch of whom is found elsewhere in this volume. He is a brother of Rev. J. P. Van Treeck, of Sheboygan, and was born in the town of Lima, January 7, 1861. Rev. Van Treeck received his education in theology and philosophy at St. Francis' Seminary, near Milwaukee, which institution he entered in 1885, and where he remained five years. Previous to this he had pursued a course of instruction at St. Vincent's, Pa. He was ordained by Archbishop Heiss August 11, 1889.

John Sprangers, the south side jeweler, has recently taken out a patent on a musical clock, something of his own ingenuity and his fortune is evidently made. The contrivance is a very simple one, but still quite an amusing oddity. The musical clock is nothing more than an ordinary clock with a small music-box cylinder added to the interior. Mr. Sprangers has already received an offer of $15,000 from a firm in the state of Ohio, for merely the privilege of selling the new invention in that state alone.

MANY AT FUNERAL OF KAUKAUNA MAN - Final Rites Are Held for John Sprangers
(Special to Post-Crescent) Kaukauna - The funeral of John Sprangers, one of Kaukauna's well know citizens took place Tuesday
morning from St. Mary church. The Rev. Father Van Trech of Sheboygan read the mass while the Rev. John Sprangers of Little Chute was
sub-deacon and the Rev. F. X. Steinbrecher was master of ceremonies. Interment was made in the parish cemetery beside the body of his wife
who died about three months ago- Paliibearers were Jacob Lummerdiac, Jacob Klein, John Junk, John Smith, Michael Donahue and John Kuehn.
John Sprangers was born in the town of Wilson. Sheboygan county in March 1855, and moved to this city in 1885. He was married twice, his
first wife, Miss Kate Wetter died in 1890 and his second wife, Miss Mary Roeche passed away a few months ago. The decedent is survived by three children, Miss Anna and John of this city and Sister St. John, of the Ohio Teachers Convent. Another son, Michael, was killed in action in France in 1918.

Aloysius J. Van Treeck (Happy) Formerly of Kaukauna Age 70, died at Madison Veteran Hospital late Tuesday after a long illness. He was born October 26,1905 in the Town of Harrison and lived and worked in the Kaukauna area all of his life. He was a member of the Kaukauna American Legion Post No. 41, and was a World War II veteran. Funeral services for Mathias J. Spranger, 82, Town of Elderon, who died Monday, Nov. 25, were held at Church of the Holy Family in Wittenberg at 11: a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Jerome Watry officiated and burial was in the parish cemetery. The casket bearers were Gilbert Ploeger, Leslie Verkuilen, Lester Balthazor, Harry VanderKooy, Adolph Kitzman and John Spranger. The local Schmidt Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
Mr. Spranger was born in Holland Town, Brown County, Nov. 3, 1881, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gerhardt Spranger. His wife, the former Miss Antonetta Van DeHey, whom he married in the Town of Elderon Nov. 17, 1903, died in July 1960. They had farmed in the Town of Elderon during their marriage.
Mr. Spranger had served as town treasurer and clerk in the Town of Elderon.
Surviving are five sons, Raymond Spranger and Lester Spranger, Eland route 1, Orville Spranger, Wittenberg, Lyman Spranger, Elderon, and Herbert Spranger, Hatley; three daughters, Mrs. Albert Van Wetering, Chicago, Mrs. John Lukasko, Eland route 1, and Mrs. Herman Grissman, Medford; a brother, Gerhardt Spranger, Wittenberg; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Lyons of New Jersey, and Mrs. Margaret Gracyalny, Menasha; 27 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Born Aug. 16, 1877, in the village of Belgium, Ozaukee County, the daughter of Joseph and Hubertina Wendling, she attended parochial schools and was married to Anton Lodes at Chilton on Feb 20, 1900. She had made her home at New Holstein since 1940 and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic parish.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Hugo (Katherine) Wagner, Cleveland, Wis., Sister M. Anysia, OSF, St Joseph's convent, Milwaukee, and Miss Theresa Lodes, Two Rivers; five sons, Arthur of Pewaukee, Hubert and William of New Holstein, Norbert of Chilton, and George of Kiel; 19 grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Schmitz, Modesta, Calif. Her husband died in 1942. An infant child also preceded her in death.

Miss Katherine Wendling, youngest daughter of Mrs. Joseph Wendling, Sr., passed away at her home on State Street on Monday afternoon, June 14, at the age of thirty-nine years.
Katherine Wendling was born at Belgium, Ozaukee County, April 6th, 1881, and when she was eleven years of age her parents disposed of their property at that place and moved to Chilton locating on the O'Brien farm two miles north of this city which they had purchased. She remained at home assisting her mother on the farm until some eighteen years ago when her health failed, since which time she has been in invalid, unable to walk for many years without the assistance of crutches and for the past seven years she has been obliged to use a wheeling chair to get about the home. In 1902 her parents retired from the farm and later built a home on State Street, giving their entire attention to the care and comfort of the invalid. The best medical skill obtainable was secured but nothing could be done for her relief. Some two weeks ago she suffered a paralytic stroke and failed rapidly until released from all earthly suffering by death. During her long years of illness she was cheerful and uncomplaining and was always pleased to meet her friends and acquaintances, who frequently called at her home to visit her. She enjoyed their company which helped to lighten her affliction.
Ill health and suffering did not spoil her disposition as is often the case but on the contrary made her sympathetic and mindful of the comfort of others. Her father died April 1917 since which time she and her mother have lived together. The funeral was held at nine o'clock on Thursday moring from St. Mary's church, Rev. Fr. L. N. Thelen celebrating Requiem Mass with interment in the family lot in St Mary's cemetery.
She is survived by her mother, one brother, Jos. T. Wendling, and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Schmitz and Mrs. Anton Lodes.

Begin Preparations for Resuming Operations as Manders' Body Is Found "With removal of the body of J. Mandels, DePere, from the wreckage of the collapsed portion of the Kimberly- Clark Paper Co. mill at Kimberly rescue work was completed and removal of debris from the wrecked seater room was temporarily halted Manders' body was found at 7:15 Tuesday night near the bottom of the debris, about ten feet from the west wall of the ruined section. His body was paitly immersed in water for several days after the collapse but the pit -was nearly dry when the body removed. It had been, buried in the moist pulp since about 10 last Friday morning. After the body was found the rescue squads were taken out of the pits and the men sent to their home-, to prepare for the work of resuming operations in the mill. With the finding of Slander's body the number of dead in the disaster was increased to nine. The dead are: Otto Krueger. Arthur Brockman. Norbert Goffard. J. Despins. Herman Sprangers. T. Manders. Peter Van Langveldt. Frank. "W. Johnson John Fiers. Eighteen men were more or less severely injured in the wreck but al are rapidly recovering. Some have been discharged from St. Elizabetl hospiital. Employes of the mill reported for work Wednesday morning and-began cleaning up the mill and making re pairs. It was stated by mill officials that operations on some of the ma chines probably will be resumed on Thursday morning. It also was said that shipment of paper from the mil probably will be .started in a day o tuo- During the time the rescue worl was in progress all other activitie, about the mill were completely sus pended and not a wheel was turned nor a nictn employed for any othe purpose than that of removing debris from the wrecked portion. Officials of the Kimberly-Clark Co "Wednesday expressed their sympathj for the sufferers in the accident an>~ their gratitude for and appreciatio; of the "limitless spirit of helpfullnes that has manifested itself on ever hand." Kimberly, Wis., Oct. 8 - Three men, buried for nearly 24 hours in the wreckage of the collapsed beater plant of the Kimberly-Clark paper mill here, were rescued alive Saturday.

Rescue workers continued their frantic efforts Saturday to reach six men still buried in the debris of Kimberly-Clark paper mill collapse here Friday. Three of the six are known to be alive despite injuries.
Six others were killed or subsequently died in hospital and 15 injured when the walls of the building, collapsed pinning the men beneath a mass of twisted concrete, steel and lumber.
Groans Speed Work
All night long the voluntary army of workers had toiled with the hope that those still buried might be reached alive. Moans heard occasionally throughout the night spurred rescue work.
The two story building of the paper mill collapsed apparently as a result of the weakening of one wall. It was believed the wall caved in because of burrowings under it. No definite reason has been assigned as yet. An investigation was under way to determine the cause.
Without warning, the walls crashed inward and the roof sank down.
Oiler Is Killed
There were 32 men employed in the plant. The paper mill was being repaired and a crew of a dozen men doing this work was also in or near the building when the collapse came.
John Fiers, killed in the crash, visited the part of the plant, which collapsed, only once a day. He made his daily visit to oil machinery just as the walls caved in.

Torches Cut Girders
Little progress was made through the night in digging into the heaped up mass. It was necessary to climb up ladders to reach the top of the heap and there was a great deal of trouble experienced in carrying away the debris. Acetylene torches were necessary to burn through the twisted iron girders.
The crash came without warning, he said.
"I don't know what happened." he said. "I suddenly found myself falling and then buried under the mass. Timbers had piled up around me and prevented any bricks striking me."

Paper Mill Town
Kimberly has a population of about 1,200. The town was built up around the paper mill, one of the largest of its kind in the country. Nearly everyone in the town gathered at the scene last night, but they were not permitted to get near the building.
Workers, cutting their way through the mass, were in peril constantly from fragments of the walls still standing.
The injured were given emergency treatment at temporary stations set up near the building, then were rushed to hospitals in Appleton, a few miles from here.

6 Dead, 18 Hurt, 3 Missing in Mill
Three Men Buried Under Tons of Debris for 14 Hours Tell Story of Rescue
A tale of miraculous escape after spending nearly 14 hours buried beneath tons and tons of brick, steel, wood and pulp is told by three Kimberly men taken from the ruins of the collapsed beater room of the Kimberly mill, which collapsed Friday morning carying [sic] six men to their deaths and injuring 19 more. The men taken from the pit at 12 o'clock Friday night were Chester Mauthe, 20, married six weeks ago; George Pocan, 18, single; and Albert Jansen, 21.
The three men, with Arthur Brockman, 40, Kimberly, who died of injuries after being taken from the pit, were working together unloading pulp from trucks and storing it on the top floor. A truck had just been unloaded and Mauthe, Jansen and Pocan were sitting atop the pulp pile while Brockman had pulled the truck to the elevator to bring back another load.
Without warning there was a crash and the three men sitting on top of the pile were precipitated into a roaring inferno of flying bricks, steel, machinery, wires, pipes, masonry, pulp and lumber.

Thought of Earthquake

"I didn't know what happened but thought of an earthquake," said Mauthe. He talked in a low even tone, despite the hours of suspense in a small dark hole beneath tons of debris with the threat of death constantly staring him in the care.

"I looked above me and saw a huge black form coming down. I think it was a beater. There was a sudden flash, like lightning, as I passed a switch box which was caught in the collapse. I burned my arm against a hot pipe as I fell. The air was filled with steam, and dust and flying bricks and stones and I thought I was a goner, sure.

"I landed on top of Pocan in a hole not more than four feet long and a foot and a half wide and the tons of pulp above us stopped about a foot above our heads. After the noise had died down Pocan told me Jansen was beneath us and couldn't breath. I had landed in a sitting position. My two legs were doubled up to my chin under the pile of pulp and more pulp was pressing on the back of my neck. I was doubled up and couldn't move. Pocan managed to squeeze to one side enough to allow Jansen to turn his nose from the floor, so he could breath.

Afraid to Move

"I cautioned the fellows not to move because I was afraid any movement would bring that pile of pulp on us and crush us. It was pitch black and we could hear men hollering to the right and left of us. We called out too but no one seemed to hear.

"First we prayed, then we talked to keep up our courage and then we would cry for help. The pain in my legs was growing almost unbearable and at last I didn't care whether I died or not. But I kept telling the fellows to be brave and that we would be rescued.

Attracts Rescuers

"We could hear the men working above us and shout for help but they seemed not to hear because the sounds would fade away. We prayed some more and waited. The suspense was awful. It didn't seem possible that we would get out alive. Finally I heard another man walking above me and I hollered. He seemed to hear because immediately digging started above us. As the rescuers came closer, the pulp began pressing down from above and we were afraid that it might crush us before the digger could reach us. The pulp kept advancing inch by inch until when finally the picks broke through, it was but an inch or two above us. Believe me, we thanked God when we got out." Mauthe finished. Mauthe suffered a broken leg but the other two men were uninjured.

Pocan's story was similar to that of Mauthe, except he said he never doubted they would get out. He said they spent most of their time praying. Pocan said they thought it was about 2 o'clock in the afternoon when they were taken from the pit. Jansen was too busy consoling his mother and sister early Saturday morning to be able to talk. All three were crying and talking and laughing.

First to greet Pocan when he was taken out were his brothers, Clarence and Joseph, who started work with him at 7 o'clock Friday morning and another brother, Arnold, who arrived from Milwaukee at 6 o'clock Friday evening. The three brothers worked unceasingly and were rewarded by finding their "kid brother" alive.

One of the early arrivals at the accident was the Rev. F. X. Van Nistleroy, pastor of Holy Name church at Kimberly. He attempted to reach the rumors but was stopped by one of the deputized guards.

"You can't help down there father," said the guard.

Priest Wades in Water

"If I cannot save lives, perhaps I can save souls," the priest answered and waded about waist deep in water at times consoling the injured.

Another example of heroism was displayed by Martin VerKuilen of Medina who held his unconscious companion, Nic Fox, out of the water into which they were hurled when the rear of their dump truck was caught by the falling walls. The two were rescued by a boat and taken to the hospital where it was reported VerKuilen, although badly cut was not seriously hurt. Fox's skull is crushed and his condition is critical.

By a trick of fate, Henry Huber, employed as assistant beaterman on the first floor of the ruined section, had been sent outside the building a minute before the accident on the other hand John Fiers, an oiler, who visits that section of the mill only a few minutes each day, was caught in the crush and killed.

Arranges Funerals of 3 Killed at Mill

Final Rites for Brockman, Krueger and Goffard to be held on Monday

Funeral services have been arranged for three victims of the Kimberly mill disaster.

Services for Arthur F. Brockman, 29, will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning from Holy Name church, Kimberly. The Rev. F. X. Van Nistleroy will have charge. Brockman was born in Appleton and was employed for the last five years with the Kimberly-Clark company. He is survived by his widow, four children, Melvin, 4, Gerald, 3, Elaine, 2, and Gordon, 10 months, his father, Henry Brockman, Seymour, one sister, Mrs. Ben Wendt Seymour, two brothers Walter, Seymour, and Ewald, Appleton. He was a member of the Holy Name society.

Funeral services for Otto Krueger, 29, will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon from the Kimberly Presbyterian church. Krueger is survived by his widow, three small children, four sisters, Mrs. Edward Manske, New London, Mrs. Emil Gutt, Bowler, Misses Alma and Ophelia, New London, three brothers, Fred, Tigerton, Arthur and Herman, New London. Krueger was employed for the last give years with the Meyer Construction company. He came to Kimberly about a year ago from Oshkosh. He was a member of the Fraternal Reserve association of Wisconsin Rapids. The body will be taken to New London for burial.

The funeral of Norbert Goffard, 24, Kimberly, will be held at 9 o'clock Monday morning from St. Mary church, Oneida. He was born in DePere and 13 years ago moved to the town of Oneida where he lived until two years ago when he moved to Kimberly. He was married to Miss Marie Mignon of Appleton two months ago. The survivors are his widow, his parents, Mr. And Mrs. Henry Goffard of Oneida; seven brothers, George and Chester of Green Bay; Leonard of Kimberly; Archie Benjamin, Gerhart and Patrick of Oneida and one sister, Virginia of Oneida.

The body was taken to the home of his parents Saturday afternoon. The Rev. Father Vissers will conduct the services. Interment will be in Mt. Olive cemetery at De Pere. He was a member of the Holy Name society of St. Mary church at Oneida.

Mr. and Mrs. John Juckem and daughter, Priscilla, and Mrs. Anna Greuel, left Sunday for Bristol., S. D. to attend the funeral of Mrs. Greuel's brother. Alfred Wattier. They expect to visit relatives and friends in Dakota and Minnesota before returning home.

Obituary:
John A. Juckem Jr., 75, a Chilton farmer, died suddenly early Saturday afternoon at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Appleton, after a short illiness. he had been admitted to the hospital for surgery Friday. A native of Brown County, he was born May 20, 1880 at Hollandtown, Wis., and moved to Chilton in 1887 with his parents, the late Mr. and mrs. John M. Juckem Sr. On Nov. 20, 1907, he was married to Miss Sylvia Greuel at Holy Trinity Church at Jericho. Since their marriage, the couple operated a farm on the north edge of Chilton, Mr. Juckem was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary's Church. Surviviors are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Gervase (Evelyn) Graney of Neenah, Mrs. Lionel (priscilla Roach of Town Chilton, and Mrs. Fred (Vivian) Roesch of Milwaukee; a son, LeRoy, at home, and six grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Joseph and Peter, of Town Chilton, and six sisters, Mrs. Mary Hartzheim and Miss Emma Juckem of Chilton, mrs. John Kolbe of Town Charlestown, Mrs. John Wolsinger of Darboy and Miss Clara Juckem and Mrs. Jacob Rammer, Sheboygan. One son and a sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Chilton, with the Rev. Joseph Bartelme, pastor, the celebrant of the requiem mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the hour of services. A parish vigil will be held there at 8 o'clock tonight.

Joan M. Kabat, 81, passed away peacefully December 26, 2012 in Florida. Joan was born in Black Creek, Wisconsin on January 13, 1931 to Frank and Margaret (Van Treeck) Gerritts. She married Lee Kabat May 24, 1942 and he was the love of her life. They had known each other for 75 years and had celebrated 60 years of marriage last summer. She was originally from Wisconsin but spent the last 21 winters as a resident of The Villages in Florida and summers in Waupaca
Joan is survived by her husband, Lee; one son, Dan (Colleen) Kabat, and two daughters, Pat (Jeff) Fletcher, and Julie (Jeff) Layer, her grandsons Brent (Rebecca) Kabat (their daughter, Lucy), and Brian (Kindle) Kabat, and her granddaughters Leah Fletcher, Jessica Fletcher, Holly Layer and Gretchen Layer.
She is also survived by one brother, Russ (Dorothy) Gerritts, and four sisters; Ruth Oudenhoven, Joyce Konkle, Janice (Tom) Thyes and Carol Eastman. She is further survived by her loving brother-in-law, Fr. Daniel F. Kabat, a retired Capuchin priest.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, four infant children and two brothers, Vernon and Ronald Gerritts.
She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, Wisconsin and St. Timothy Catholic Church in The Villages, Florida. She was an avid volunteer at her churches. She enjoyed golfing, bridge, mahjong and playing cards with friends and loved ones.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Waupaca, Wisconsin, on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.

THE VILLAGES - Joan M. Kabat, 81, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012.
Mrs. Kabat was born in Black Creek, Wis., and has spent the last 21 winters in The Villages. She was a retired bookkeeper for a construction company and a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, Wis., and St. Timothy Catholic Community. She was an avid volunteer. She enjoyed golf outings, card games and mah-jongg.
Survivors include her husband, Lee Kabat; son, Dan, Waupaca, Wis.; daughters Julie Layer, Plymouth, Minn.; Pat Fletcher, Waupaca, Wis.; brother, Russ Gerritts; sisters Ruth Oudenhoven, Joyce Konkle, Janice Thyes and Carol Eastman; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be held in Wisconsin at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the St. Fedelis Friary and Capuchin Priest and Brother Retirement Home in Appleton, Wis.
Arrangements are by the Florida Cremation Society, The Villages.

Pat Peters, age 92, passed away at her Kaukauna home on Sunday night, April 19, 2015. She was born in the Brown County town of Lawrence on October 19, 1922, daughter of the late George and Minnie (Vanden Heuvel) Baeten. She attended St. Paul Catholic School in Wrightstown, and from 1943 to 1944 served in the United States Army. She had her husband, Alois Peters, were actually married in their military uniforms on October 25, 1953 at St. Paul's Church in Wrightstown. Alois preceded Pat in death in 1987.
In her younger years, she enjoyed visiting Romy's Nitingale where she enjoyed dancing and music. In her later years she loved listening to the BeeGees. Pat loved bowling with Alois, and after his death continued bowling with her daughters well into her 70's. She also enjoyed crafts, and was a skilled cook and baker who loved to share he treats with family and friends, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
Pat is survived by four loving daughters: Diane Peters of Kaukauna; Nancy (Don Mohr) Peters of Kaukauna; Debra Peters of Kaukauna; and JoAnn (Mark) Petras of Darboy; a son: Raymond (Amy) Peters of Hollandtown. There are also eleven grandchildren: Lisa (Tony) Fugarino; Jenny (Matt) Sabee; Ryan (Brandy Halbach) Onkels; Brett and Bryce Peters; Kyle (Karalen Senft) Peters; Andrew Peters; Colleen Peters; Jared Buchberger; Alex Buchberger; and Czach (Becca Germain) Petras. There are also several great-grandchildren: Rowen Onkels; Tony, Jolie, and Olivia Fugarino; Savanah and MaKenna Sabee; as well as Brandy's children Eli and Cory Stancer, and Becca's children Carter and Mason. Pat is further survived by the loving mother of Brett and Bryce: Julie Schroeder; two sisters: Vi Jacquet of Green Bay and Rita Willems of Sister Bay; and three in-laws: Ella Baeten, Betty Baeten, and Hub Gerend.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, a son Gerald Peters; a nephew, Lee Peters; her siblings, Norbert (Opal) Baeten, Robert Baeten, Harold Baeten, Milly (Charles) Bickel, Helen (Paul Casey, Frank Thiessen), Marge Gerend, Cyrilla "Sis" (Deuce) Weyenberg, and Adeline "Toddy" (Leroy) Peters; and by her brothers-in-law Don Jacquet and Earl Willems.
The funeral liturgy for Pat will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, April 24, 2015 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish - St. Mary's Church, located at 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the hour of the mass. Donald L. Baeten, 82, West De Pere, passed away early Friday morning, Dec. 21, 2007, at Rennes Nursing Home, De Pere after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Wrightstown, on July 27, 1925, to the late Martin and Mary (Blaser) Baeten. Don married the former Betty Jane Fenlon on July 19, 1950, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maple Grove, Manitowoc County. They were married for 57 years. Don lived in the Wrightstown area and the village for 48 years and West De Pere for 34 years.
He worked in Wrightstown, for his Dad in cheese factories and was a very good dairy farmer. The dairy farm was a very big part of his life. Later, he was a guard at the Wisconsin State Prison in Allouez for about ten years. Don liked motorcycle riding and was an avid horse back rider. He had a horse from age 15 on. He had many horses through the years and thoroughly enjoyed riding and taking excellent care of them. It was a great hobby for him and he had many friends with the same hobby. Mr. Baeten enjoyed traveling on guided bus tours in the USA. Don was a former member of St. Paul's Church in Wrightstown where he lived and now is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in West De Pere.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; and his twin sister, Dorothy Vosters from Appleton; nieces and nephews, Connie and Tom Bauer, Katie and Craig Vosters, Little Chute; Paula and Russell Gilson, Appleton; Judy Berger, Florida; Debbie and Rich Mraz, Fence, Wis.; his brother-in-law, Paul and Joyce Lamers, Little Chute. On the Fenlon side, Beatrice and Fred Eberhardt, Manitowoc; Florence Donovan, De Pere; and friend, Jim Kiley, Green Bay; nieces and nephews, Ed Eberhardt, Madison; Amy and Bill Dixon, Monona; Susan Moore, De Pere; and Tim Donovan, New York City.

Dorothy Vosters, age 82, of Appleton, died Thursday, July 24, 2008, three days before her 83rd birthday, at Parkside Care Center. Dorothy was born July 27, 1925, to the late Martin and Mary (Blaser) Baeten, in Wrightstown. She is the last of six brothers and sisters, who include her twin brother Donald Baeten. She married her beloved husband, Donald B. Vosters, on August 10, 1946, sharing 57 wonderful years together before his death on October 20, 2003. Dorothy was a schoolteacher for 42 years. She taught at St. Mary Catholic Central and St. Joseph Catholic School, Appleton. Dorothy enjoyed decorating her classroom with butterflies, ribbons and bows. Her favorite color was pink. She enjoyed teaching and Friday night fish fries and playing cards with friends.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Thomas Bauer, Little Chute; her son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Kathleen Vosters, Little Chute; four grandchildren: Brad Bauer, Blake (Geri) Bauer, Bethanie Vosters and Rebecca Vosters; five great-grandchildren: Blake, McKenzie, Noah, Brooklyn and Macey; a sister-in-law, Betty Baeten, De Pere; a brother and sister-in-law, LeRoy and Pat Vosters; a brother-in-law, Tom Pauly, both of Appleton; many nieces and nephews; also special friends, Christy Rettler, Barb Bosch and Sis Balliet.
