Obituary:
Alfred E. Pflueger, 93, Greenleaf, died unexpectedly Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, with all his family by his side.
He was born Sept. 7, 1917, in the Township of Wrightstown, to the late August and Ernestine (Rusch) Pflueger. Alfred served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a man of great conviction. He married June Miske April 24, 1954, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Wrightstown. Alfred was a loving husband, father, grandpa and great-grandpa. He was a former employee of Combined Locks Paper Mill, which is now Appleton Coated.
Survivors include his wife, June; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Bill Madison, Suring; Julie and Jay Tuszka, Appleton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Riley Tuszka; Shane and Jessica Madison and children, Brycen and Brody; Cory and Amanda Madison and children, Aliyah, Claire and Emilyann; KC and Shanon Bowman and children, Darian and Boston; two sisters-in-law, Marie Pflueger and Arlene Oakley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Elmer and Mary Pflueger, Gerhard Pflueger, Esther and Leslie Schmidt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy Oakley, Victor Miske, Donald and Louise Miske.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 437 Turner Street, Wrightstown until time of service. Funeral service 1 p.m. at the church with Pastor Matthew Vik officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
Words cannot express our gratitude to Karen and Vicki from Unity Hospice and the nursing staff at St. Vincent's Hospital. Also a special thank you to Pastor Vik for his many visits.
