He was elevated to the rank of Domestic Prelate with the title Right Reverend Monsignor on Dec. 8, 1949. Msgr. Huhn celebrated the 50th anniversary of his priesthood in July, 1954. He was pastor of St. Mary's in Luxemberg, WI for over 30 years when he died. He is buried in St. Rose Cemetery, Clintonville

    Obituary:
    Genevieve S. Reuter, age 96, of Kaukauna, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. Gen was born on February 6, 1916 in Appleton to the late Prof. A. J. and Mary (Huhn) Theiss. She graduated from Appleton High School and Bowlby's Business College. Gen married Frederick "Fritz" Reuter on July 13, 1940. She worked as secretary for Pettibone-Peabody Co., Appleton, Omar Bakery and G&L Bickford Machine Tool Co. in Kaukauna, retiring in 1979. Gen was a member of Holy Cross Parish, served on the Parish Council, was a member and past president of the Ladies of Holy Cross, a member and past president of Our Lady of Guadalupe Society in Menasha, past president of the National Ladies Auxiliary of the American Racing Pigeon Union, member and past president of the AARP Kaukauna Chapter #1834, member of the Kaukauna K.C. Ladies, K.C.H.A. (formally Hospital Auxiliary), Environmental Center and the Golden Agers. She also was especially proud to receive the 2006 Volunteer Lifetime Achievement Award. She is survived by her children: Fr. John Reuter, a priest of the Diocese of Green Bay, a missionary in Santa Maria Yucuhiti, Mexico; Janet (Ron) Van De Hey, Kaukauna; Helen (Roger) Van Gompel, Appleton; six grandchildren: Major Eric Van De Hey, Michigan, and Katherine Van De Hey, Neenah; Dawn (Tim) Retzlaff, Kaukauna; Heidi (Kevin) Van Zeeland, Kaukauna; Kara (Bart) Thebo, Kimberly; Sara (David) Reybrock, Fremont; Tucker Van De Hey (special friend Alissa), Oconto; twelve great grandchildren: Elaina and Marley Van De Hey; Kyle, Ryan and Lauryn Retzlaff; Jacob and Olivia Van Zeeland; Blake and Easton Thebo; Kaden, Keagan and Macy Reybrock. She is further survived by her brother, Arthur Theiss, Appleton; her sister-in-law, Carol Theiss, Appleton; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and other friends, including her special friend Lenore Ball. Gen was preceded in death by her husband: Fritz on May 7, 1979; her parents; five brothers: George, John, Ignatius, Cyril and Joseph Theiss; three sisters: Mary Margaret Kamasky, Ruth Shilling and Cecelia Bruex; six sisters-in-law, Gertrude, Lois, Jean and Dorothy Theiss, Phillipa Reuter and Marie Busse; and five brothers-in-law, Robert Busse, John Reuter, Jim Schilling, Norman Bruex and Edmund Kamasky. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2012, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. John Reuter officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name to benefit Fr. John Reuter's Mission.     BREUX, Cecilia A. Age 87 Of Oshtemo Township Passed away on October 1, 2007 at home. Cecilia was born on November 22, 1919 in Appleton, WI, the daughter of Professor A.J. and Mary (Huhn) Theiss. Cecilia was a member of St. Augustine Cathedral and past regent for Catholic Daughters of America. Cecilia was preceded in death by four children, Margaret Mary, Ann Carrol, Cecilia Marie and Gerald Thomas and two sisters, Mary Margaret Kamasky and Ruth Schilling. Cecilia is survived by her husband of 60 years, Norman, whom she married on May 3, 1947; four children, Cecilia Mary McCue of Parchment, Pamela Ann Koscomb of Colorado Springs, CO, Andrew John Bruex of Kalamazoo and Theresa Carrol Lane of Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren, a brother, Arthur Theiss; a sister, Genevieve Reuter and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, October 4, 2007 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at REDMOND Funeral Home 4100 S. Westnedge - 343-6156 where a Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 PM by Fr. James Richardson. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 5, 2007 at 10:30 AM at St. Augustine Cathedral. Msgr. Thomas Martin Celebrant. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.     Cecilia A. (Theiss) Bruex, born Appleton, WI, November 22, 1919, and died Kalamazoo, MI, October 1, 2007. She was the daughter of Professor A.J. and Mary (Huhn) Theiss. Cecilia was a member of St. Augustine Cathedral, Kalamazoo, MI. She played the organ for the masses for many years and was also a past Grand Regent of the Catholic Daughters of America. Cecilia was a registered nurse and helped in the operation of the family business Kalamazoo Publishing Co.
    Cecilia is survived by her husband, Norman, of 60 years, whom she married May 3, 1947; four children: Cecilia Mary McCue of Parchment, MI; Pamela Ann Koscumb of Colorado Springs, CO; Andre John Bruex, Portage, MI; Theresa Carrol Lane, Colorado Springs, CO. Cecilia has one surviving brother Arthur Theiss, Appleton; one surviving sister Genevive Reuter, Kaukauna; and two sisters-in-law: Carol Theiss, Cyril's wife; Jean Theiss, Iggie's wife.
    She was preceded in death by four children: Margaret Mary, Ann Carrol, Cecilia Marie, and Gerald Thomas. Cecilia lost two sisters: Mary Margaret Kamasky and Ruth Schilling and five brothers: Iggie, Joe, George, John and Cyril Theiss.

    Edward E. Flanagan, age 88, of Bear Creek, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at St. Joseph Residence in New London. Ed was born on June 7, 1920, in Bear Creek, son of the late James and Helen (Huhn) Flanagan. On July 6, 1944, he married Delores Brault. She preceded him in death in 1992. Ed lived and farmed in the Bear Creek area his entire life. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and a longtime member of the Bear Creek School Board. Ed was an avid sportsmen; he loved to hunt and fish. In his youth he played baseball for the Appleton Foxes and the New London Merchants. Ed enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Pelican Lake and participating in the Wednesday night golf league.
    He is survived by his children: Kathleen (Bill) Klegin, New London; Michael (Nancy) Flanagan, Weyauwega; Patricia (Michael) Balke, Oshkosh; Edward (Linda) Flanagan, Mabelvale, AR; Kevin (Jane) Flanagan, Stevens Point; Maureen (Wayne) Bicknase, Tucson, AZ; Hugh (Sherri) Flanagan, Bear Creek; William (Tracy) Flanagan, Bear Creek; 24 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; brother, Paul (Mary) Flanagan, Bear Creek; sister, Helen Mares, Appleton. Ed is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, and also a grandson, Andrew Heling.
    The Funeral Mass for Ed will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. Friends may call at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home on Friday, June 5, 2009, from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass. A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the Sister Sandy Peterson Prayer Garden at St. Mary's in Bear Creek.
    The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph Residence for the wonderful care they gave to Ed.
