Helen Lessor
WaKEENEY - Helen Lessor, 94, died Aug. 23, 2007, at Lutheran Home, WaKeeney. She was born March 30, 1913, in Graham County, the daughter of Stephen and Philamena Reitmayer Nemechek. She attended Graham County schools. She was a homemaker.
On Oct. 15, 1933, she married Emerson Lessor in WaKeeney. He died Oct. 1, 1987.
Survivors include: four sons, Laverne, and Robert, both of Great Bend, Charles, Mulvane, and Delbert, Richland, Wash.; two sisters, Barbara Parke, WaKeeney, and Agatha Denning, Hutchinson; 10 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and two step-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Ferd, Carl, Leo, Stephen and Leonard Nemechck; three sisters, Catherine Umstead, Regina Aschenbrenner and Dorothy Rourke; and a step-grandchild. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, WaKeeney, with Father Donald F. Pfannenstiel presiding. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Christ the King Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Lutheran Home, or Christ the King Catholic Church, both in care of the funeral home.
