    Obituary:
Evelyn Erna Conradt died on December 15, 2016, only 2 months after her soul mate of 70 years, Vernon, died on October 15, 2016. They were each other's heart and soul and Evelyn felt she needed to be alongside him in eternal life. She was born April 24, 1925 in New London Wisconsin, the daughter of late Anna Kusserow-Zimmerman and Henry Zimmerman. She grew up on a farm in the town of Lebanon and moved to New London, after the death of her two brothers Arnold and Ervin, who were involved in a drowning accident in 1928 and the death of her father in 1929. She introduced her stepfather, Herman Roos, to her mother, by asking him if he knew her mother, when he replied no, she stated "he should"! They married a few years later.
Evelyn graduated from New London high school and worked at the American Plywood until her marriage. She met the love of her life, Vernon, first at confirmation class at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London and later when they were both attendants at Vern's brother's wedding . They were married March 2, 1946. They farmed together for over 57 years before moving to the village of Shiocton and then in their later years, when Vern's health failed, moved to Appleton.
When on the farm, in addition to raising her family, Evelyn taught knitting and sewing in 4H, worked in her flower beds and garden, enjoyed the "country dozen" and her exercise group, who still meet today over cups of coffee and enjoy each others friendship. Her family was important to her, there were many times that impromptu corn roasts, fires down in the woods while cross country skiing took place, always with plenty of food and love. She knit afghans for each grandchild and baby sweaters for each grand child and great grandchild.
Evelyn enjoyed listening to and watching the Packers, Brewers and Badgers with Vern. They traveled to various destinations in the U.S., fished on the Wolf River and Shawano Lake, enjoyed dancing and cross country skiing.
Her faith was important to her, being a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church as well as serving on the funeral committee and sunshine committee.
She is preceded in death by her husband Vern on October 15, 2016. Her parents, Anna Roos, Henry Zimmerman, step father Herman Roos, her in laws, Martin , Elise and Emily Conradt, her brothers Arnold and Ervin Zimmerman, her sister May Glassnap, brothers in law Bill Bast, Harold and Orville Conradt, sister in law Alice Conradt.
