    Obituary:
    August Meetz, one of the well known residents of our city, died last Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Tikalsky.
    The deceased was born in Germany in 1846. He served in the Franco-Prussian war and in 1873 was united in married to Miss Anna Langfeldt. In 1885 the couple came to America and for a time resided at Mishicot. In 1886 they moved to Brillion settling on the farm now owned by his son, William. In 1904 Mr. and Mrs. Meetz retired and lived in this city since. The past two years they have lived with their daughter.
    He is survived by the sorrowing widow, one son, William, and two daughters, Mrs. Dora Paschen of Kaukauna and Mrs. Lena Tikalsky of Brillion. The funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon services being conducted at the Evang. Friedens Church, Rev. Leonhardt officiating. Interment was in the Brillion town cemetery.

    Obituary:
    The death of Mrs. Lena Tikalsky last Thursday, was a great shock to the community. Her death occurred at St. Elizabeth Hospital at Appleton where everything possible had been done to effect her recovery.
    Decedent was born in 1874, in Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Meetz with whom she emigrated to America in her girlhood days. In 1891 she was united in marriage to Frank Tikalsky in this city which has been their home since.
    She is survived by her husband, four sons, two daughters and two grandchildren. The sons are Edward of Granville, Mich., Norman of Milwaukee, and Roland, Frank and Richard of Brillion. The daughters are Mrs. Elsie Pritzl of this city and Mrs. Marie Coopeman, Evanston, Ill. One brother, William of Brillion and one sister, Mrs. Dora Paschun of Kaukauna also survive.
    She was an active member of the Christian Mothers of St. Mary's congregation, the E.F.U. and the Brillion Woman's Club. The funeral was held last Saturday, services being conducted at St. Mary's Church, Rev. Garthus officiating. Interment was in the Catholic Cemetery.

    Virginia D. Steffens, Fond Du Lac, formerly Kaukauna, passed away on April 19, 2014. Virginia was born on October 23, 1922 in Kaukauna Wisconsin to the late Albert and Mabel (Paschen) Reinholz. She was a graduate of Kaukauna High School. On February 20, 1946 she married George Steffens at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. The couple resided in both Kaukauna and Fond Du Lac over the years and also enjoyed their cottage near Brussels Wisconsin. Virginia worked as a telephone operator and also held several positions in retail stores over the years. She was employed with Runte's Department Store as well as Look Drug Store. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
    She will be sadly missed by: her husband George; her children; Diane (Jerry) Wachdorf, Eldorado; David (Vicki) Steffens, Freedom; Christine (Kevin) Fisher, Salem Oregon; Michael (Pam) Steffens, Fort Wayne Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister Janice Frier as well as many other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth (Katherine) Reinholz; sister Carol (Lee) Ashauer, brother-in-law Karl Frier.
    Memorial Services for Virginia will be held Wednesday May 14, 2014 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am.     Carol J. Ashauer, age 85, of Kaukauna, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Grand Horizons. She was born on July 5, 1927, in Appleton, the daughter of the late Albert and Mabel (Paschen) Reinholz. On February 1, 1947, Carol married Leon Ashauer at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. She enjoyed painting, quilting, antiquing, doll collecting, and gardening. Carol also loved to care for and feed the many birds that visited her yard. She will be remembered for her love of spending time up north at the cabin near Mountain, and traveling with Leon. Carols favorite flower was the trillium, and she enjoyed being outdoors, along with spending time with her family.
    She is survived by her eight children: Sharon (Michael) Minock of Green Valley, Arizona; Mary Elliott of Appleton; Patty Keough of Appleton; Randy (Paula) Ashauer, Becky (George) Palen, and Jan (Alan) Hietpas, all of Kaukauna; Lisa (Doug) Warren of Newburg, Oregon; and Greta Ashauer of Appleton; nineteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Virginia (George) Steffens of Fond du Lac and Janice Freier of Kaukauna; three brothers-in-law: Eugene (Margaret), John (Ione), and Thomas (Kathy) Ashauer, all of Kaukauna; and sister-in-law: Carol Jansen of Kaukauna. Carol is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Ashauer; brother, Kenneth (Catherine) Reinholz; and brothers-in-law, Karl Freier and James (Carol T.) Ashauer.

She was born January 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Albert and Mabel (Paschen) Reinholz, in Kaukauna, where she was a resident most of her life. On October 20, 1962, she married Karl Freier at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Kaukauna. Karl preceded her in death on September 12, 2006. They were blessed with 43 years of marriage. Janice was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Among many hobbies, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and painting. She was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, Kaukauna.

    Eugene Fredrick Lange, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009. He was born on April 30, 1924, the son of the late, Victor and Bessie (Paschen) Lange. After graduating from Kaukauna High School in 1942, Gene attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison before entering the Navy in 1943. Gene served his country honorably during World War II until 1946. In 1950, he graduated from the University of Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He then married his loving wife, Ruth Borcherdt on October 21, 1950. Gene began his career as a Pharmacist working for Look Drug store. He then took ownership of Little Chute Pharmacy for approximately 14 years. Gene then worked for Appleton Medical Center where he retired in 1991. Gene loved being a pharmacist and took pride in helping others. He enjoyed being on vacation with his family, dancing, singing and wood working. Gene was fond of playing cribbage and was a kind, gentle and loving man to his wife, children and all he knew.
    Gene is lovingly survived by his wife, Ruth Lange, Appleton; children: Sharon (Al) Luedtke, Allenton; Sandra (Butch) Chalupa, Appleton; Gary (Sandie) Lange, Appleton; Dennis (Sandra) Lange, Appleton; Darryl (Katie) Lange, Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren: Corey (Lisa) Courchane, Christa (Travis) Thorin, Stacey (Don) Hennessey, Angela (Sven) Loberg, Alicia (Craig) Oberg, Alena (Nate) Tapelt, Adam Lange, Jared Lange, Brandon Lange, Stephanie Lange and eleven great-grandchildren.     David W. Paschen, 55 years, passed away February 10, 2017 at his home in Menasha, Wisconsin. He was born on September 19, 1961 to his parents Wayne W. and Fay (Wilson) Paschen in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He was a graduate of Kimberly High School Class of 1980. Shortly after graduation he began a career at the paper mill in Kimberly working there from 1980 to 1993. He obtained his realtor's license and worked with Acre Realty until 2008. He then started ALLOUT Property Removal Company, and was the owner/operator until his death.
    He was a generous, supportive and loving big brother and uncle who took pride in his nieces' and nephews' accomplishments. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, and visiting the north woods and Lake Michigan, alone or with family.
    He is survived by his sisters Linda (Kevin) Voit, Karen (Tim) Darnick, brother Michael (Molly) Paschen, nieces Rachel Voit, Kaylee Paschen, nephews Corey and Curtis Paschen, aunt and uncle Bill and Margo Perkins, cousins Greg, Jeff, Christa Perkins and Brenda Grim.
    Preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Fay Paschen, paternal grandparents Walter and Marion Paschen and maternal grandmother Margaret Wilson.
    A Memorial Service for David will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 4:30 pm at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 510 Sullivan Ave., Kaukauna. Private inurnment. Family and friends may gather from 3 pm until time of Service.
