    Pioneer Kaukauna Resident Is Dead
    John Corcoran, 83, Veteran Grocer and City Official, Dies
    Kaukauna - John H. Corcoran, 83, 308 E. Eighth street, former city official and resident of Kaukauna the last 58 years, died at 6:30 Sunday evening at his home after a 2-year illness.
    Mr. Corcoran was born July 26, 1855, at Quarreyville, New York, and came to Fond du Lac with his parents when a child. He moved to Kaukauna in 1880 with his father and brothers and was employed on the water power canal project. Mr. Corcoran established a grocery store on the present site of the Bank of Kaukauna and later went into the wholesale and retail liquor business. He reentered the grocery business in 1923.
    He served as alderman, assesor and poor commissioner at Kaukauna and was a member of St. Mary's church and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.
    Mr. Corcoran married Miss Sarah Gagahan of Sheboygan in 1878 who died in 1894. Later he married Miss May Haphner of Chilton.
    Surviving are the widow; three sons, Frank J. Tacomah, Wash.; William J. Ironwood; John M., Kaukauna; two daughters, Mrs. Leon Wolf, Appleton; Miss Roberta M. Corcoran, New York; one brother, Matthew, Fond du Lac; two sisters, Mrs. William R. Kennedy, Milwaukee, Mrs. Mary L. Keenan, Fond du Lac, and 13 grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be conducted at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at St. Mary's church by the Rev. Alphonse Roder with burial at Holy Cross cemetery. The body will be at the funeral home from this evening until time of funeral services.

    Corcoran Rites Held At St. Mary's Church
    Kaukauna - Funeral services for John H. Corcoran, 83, 308 E. Eighth street, former city assesor and poor commissioner who died Sunday after an illness of two years, were held at 9 o'clock yesterday morning from St. Mary's church, with the Rev. Alphonse Roder in charge. Burial was in Holy Cross cemetery.
    Bearers were Dr. W. C. Sullivan, O. L. Stokes, Charles L. Clune, Clarence Wolf, Peter Kauth and James O'Connor.

    Wolf, Thomas G. Age 91, of Appleton, passed away at Huger Mercy Living Center in Phoenix on August 18, 2017. He was born on January 28, 1926 to Leon and Adele (Corcoran). He served his country stateside in WWII and was stationed in Seoul as a fire chief during the Korean War. He married Nola Krull in 1955. He was a devoted husband for 62 years and a loving father to his four children.
    Tom was a lifelong resident of Appleton as was his father and grandfather before him. He had a huge heart for his hometown. As a businessman, he owned Valley Recharging Service/Valley Fire for 30 years. He was a tireless volunteer serving the Catholic Church, the Cursillo movement, BSA, FISC, COTS, Pioneer Village and many others.
    He enjoyed time sailing on Lake Winnebago, skiing at Calumet Hill, playing bridge with Nola and cribbage at the farm in Suring.
    He is survived by his wife, his children; Greg (Gay Lynn) Wolf of Neenah, Susan (Doug) Sawyer of Phoenix, Arizona and Alison (Charlie) Bayne of Boise, Idaho, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, sisters Rose Ann Kinzer and Helen (Lee) Schwartz and his brother Joe. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jimmy and John, his sister Mary and his daughter Ellen.
    Tom was quick with a joke and needed little prompting to pull out his ukulele. He had an Irish twinkle in his eye and a smile to match. We will all miss him dearly.
    A mass and reception will be held at St. Joe's Catholic Church on September 8 at 10:30 a.m.
