    Obituary:
Carol Mae Landsverk "Nana", age 73, of Neenah, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Cherry Meadows. Carol was born to the late Margaret Hinzman Pekel and Harvey Pekel on February 18, 1940. She went to high school at Fox Valley Lutheran, graduating in 1958. On February 14, 1959, she married the love of her life, Sidney Landsverk at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Appleton.
Carol was involved in Father Carr, St. Joseph's Food Pantry, volunteering at Tullar Elementary School and with Habitat for Humanity. She also volunteered for Gloria Dei where she shared her true passion of quilting, bible study and choir. She enjoyed cooking for her friends, family and strangers. She was famous for her peanut butter balls and special occasion lefse. Carol always found time to help a friend in need with food, love and support. She loved to garden, decorate with flowers, go to the cottage up north, cross stitch, sew clothing for her grandchildren and their dolls, and talk with her neighbors and friends. She was a talented painter capturing many precious memories over the years. Above all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Carol will be deeply missed by her husband of 54 years, Sidney; her four sons, Daniel (Karen Ann), Todd (Karen Marie), David (DeAnn) and Joel (Michelle). She is further survived by her grandchildren, Andrew (LeeAnn), Jennifer, Adam, Alex, Silas, Shae, Sydney, and Katherine; as well as her sister Monnie Jansen (Don) Vick and her sister-in-law, Peggy (Wayne) Muenzel. Carol will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Harvey Pekel.
The funeral service for Carol will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at PRINCE OF PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH (2330 East Calumet St. APPLETON) with Rev. Gary Nokleberg officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on December 31, 2013 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME (537 N. Superior St. APPLETON) and again at church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in Carol's name. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
The Landsverk family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Theda Clark Hospital, Dr. David Schiedermayer and the staff at Cherry Meadows Hospice for all their kindness and support. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Rev. Gary Nokleberg and the loving family at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
