Obituary:
Menasha - Norman F. Westphal "Choo Choo" age 86, of Menasha, passed away on Friday, April 13th 2018. Norm grew up on his parent's farm, Erwin & Lily Westphal of Neenah. He attended both Neenah & Winneconne Schools. Norm served in the USMC during the Korean War 1952 - 1954. He was married to Audrey Koerner and later to Dolly Kobbs.
Norm was employed at Neenah Paper & Banta until retirement. After retirement, he drove shuttle for Bergstrom's. He enjoyed golfing, walking, driving his 68 Chev in many parades, camping with the family, playing the humstrum, watching the Packers, going to the Marine Corp League in Oshkosh and the Menasha VFW. He also was a sun worshipper who loved being outdoors! In April 2016 he enjoyed the Veterans Honor Flight to Washington DC.
Norm will be missed by his daughter, Sue (Butch) Webb; grandsons, Kaden and Devon; great-grand kids, Cassidy Ann and Lily Rae; sisters, Sandy (Dave) Hackstock and Audrey (Tom) Peterson; brothers, Harvey (Pat) Allen and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dolly, parents Erwin and Lily Westphal, brother Eugene, twin sister Norma, brother-in-law Arlyn Johnson, and great grandchildren Winter Rae and Little Devon Lee Webb
Norman will be missed by all who knew him and think of him whenever they see or hear a train or hear a train's whistle.
Norm's family would like to thank the staffs at Prairie Home Assisted Living in Menasha and Theda Care Hospice for the special care they gave Norm.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in memory of Norm's great grandchildren, Winter Rae and Little Devon Webb, for Milwaukee Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28th at Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with a memorial service at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Military honors will follow the service. For online condolences, please visit: www.kesslerfh.com
