Leonard A. Bricco, Elton, Age 87, died Saturday June 5, 1999, at his home. He was born November 7, 1911, in Bear Creek, Wisconsin, the son of the late Leo and Mabel (Olesen) Bricco. On May 24, 1941, he married Marjorie Wurzer at St. James Catholic Church in White Lake, Wisconsin. Leonard served with the United States Army Engineering Corps during World War II in the South Pacific at Guadalcanal and in the Philippine Islands as a Technical Sergeant Fourth Class. Leonard spent most of his life working in the food service field. Prior to World War II, he worked as head cook and baker for the Yawkey Bissel Lumber Camp in White Lake. Following his service in the army, he spent an additional two years in Greenland during the construction and building of Tule Air Base, serving as a baker. He worked many years as a food service cook and baker for the Wisconsin Correctional System in Waukesha, Wisconsin, finishing his career as Food Production Manager. After he and his wife retired, they moved to their retirement home in Elton, Wisconsin. Leonard was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, White Lake, and a member of Anderson- Sather White Lake American Legion Post 524 and Wolf River Valley White Lake Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9438. He was deeply moved and honored to represent these groups as Grand Marshal in their July 4, 1998, Parade. Along with his love for music he was an accomplished organ and piano player he was also a serious gardener. He enjoyed traveling.
In addition to his wife, Margie,
he is survived by two daughters, Patricia (Stewart) Hanke, Waukesha, Wisconsin,
and Catherine (Joseph) Ramer, Elton, Wisconsin,
and one son, James (Lois) Bricco, Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
He is survived by his six grandsons, Chad Hanke and Troy (fiancee, Lisa) Hanke, Waukesha, Wisconsin Terry (Brenda) Bricco, Winona, Minnesota Andy (Dawn) Bricco, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Jacob and Adam Ramer, Elton, Wisconsin one granddaughter, Jodi Hanke, Waukesha, Wisconsin and a great-grandson, Brandon Hanke, Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Visitation will be at the Bradley Funeral Home Thursday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. and the White Lake Veterans will stand Honor Guard from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and conduct Military Rites at the church following services. Friends and relatives may also call at St. James Catholic Church, White Lake, Friday from 10 until 11 a.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, White Lake with the Rev. Omer Kelley and Deacon Tom Craig officiating.
Burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery, Elton. A memorial has been established in memory of Leonard Bricco to LeRoyer Hospice or St. James Catholic Church in White Lake, Wisconsin. The family wishes to express a sincere thank-you to the LeRoyer Hospice, to Judy Murphy for the love and compassion and to all individuals that assisted with Leonard's care.

John Paul Bricco, 91, Green Bay, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 20, 2016. He was born on June 30, 1925, in White Lake, WI to Leo and Mabel (Oleson) Bricco.
John attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from Bear Creek High School, Class of 1944. In 1945, he was drafted during WWII. John served in the U.S. Marine Corps for a short time before he was given an honorable discharge.
Mr. Bricco continued his education at the Outagamie County Teachers College in Kaukauna, WI and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and Certificate as a Reading Specialist from UW-Oshkosh. John started his teaching career in 1952 with the first four years as an upper elementary teacher and principal at Embarrass State Grade School, Embarrass, WI. He taught at Clintonville Junior High School for eight years before moving to the Green Bay area in 1964 to take a teaching position at the Allouez Junior High School. John earned his Masters of Reading Degree in 1969 from UW-Madison and did post-graduate studies in reading at UW-Oshkosh, the University of Utah and Brigham Young University in Utah. From 1978 until his retirement in 1986, he served as the K-12 Reading Supervisor for the Green Bay Area Public Schools. As a staff member for UW-Oshkosh, Mr. Bricco taught reading practicum classes in the Green Bay area. John also had several articles published in the Wisconsin Educational Association Journal and the Wisconsin State Reading Association Journal.
John was a member of the Greater Bayland Reading Council, holding the offices of Treasurer, Vice President, and President and was a member of the Brown County Foster Parent Association. Mr. Bricco was an active parishioner of St. Jude Parish. He participated in the Bible Study, enjoyed his involvement with the children's Summer Bible School and served as a member of the Board of Education for St. Jude Parochial School.
John worked in the restaurant field as a young man, starting out in his hometown of Bear Creek. He then moved to Green Bay where he enjoyed being the "breakfast chef" at the Beaumont Hotel and as the chef at Chambers Island in Door County. John worked six summers as the "head cook" for the Boy Scouts of America at Camp Bear Paw, to finance his education.
As a young boy, John remembers sitting on the front porch and listening to his mother do "chording" on the piano and singing. This is no doubt started him with his life-long love of music in which he became an accomplished organ and piano player. He was the Director of Music for the Green Bay Elks and was the church choir director at his hometown parish. For many years, John would entertain at ManorCare and Santa Maria nursing homes with some good old fashion sing-alongs. He didn't stop there! John was known as "The Music Man" to his friends at Woodside Manor II which was his home since 2011.
He is survived by foster sons: Joe (Bonnie) Phillips, Green Bay, and their daughters, Valeri, Laura, Kendra, and Hayley; Russ Woitula, Montello, WI and his children, Christopher, Abraham, Olivia, Caleb and Eve.

John's family will receive relatives and friends at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St. Green Bay, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church with Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. Loy J. Bricco, age 86, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 peacefully at home after a lingering illness. He was born on August 11, 1930 to the late Leo and Mabel Bricco in Bear Creek. He was united in marriage on April 20, 1949 to Lorraine Spoehr at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. He worked for Outagamie County Highway Department for 40 years. He was a grader operator for 25 years and a Crew Foreman for 15 years, retiring in 1990. He was very involved in his community. In 1952 he joined the Bear Creek Fire Department and served as Fire Chief from 1962 until 1986. He continued as a member of the Fire Department for many years thereafter. He served on the Village Board as a trustee for many years. Loy was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of Moose Clintonville Lodge. Loy had a passion for snowmobiling and was instrumental in starting the Trail and Track Snowmobile Club. He was an antique car enthusiast. He frequented many car shows with his 1928 Model A Ford (Jesse) once owned by his parents and his 1951 Ford truck (Orville). He was an avid hunter. Loy and Lorraine spent many winters in Florida to get away from the cold, enjoying the company of their snowbird friends. He was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. Loy was actively involved in the parish as an altar server his entire life. He served on the Cemetery Committee for 20 years, as a Festival Chairman and numerous other projects. He was honorably discharged from the Wisconsin National Guards and also served as a Boy Scout Leader. Loy loved to be with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Loy is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lorraine; a daughter, Sandy (Tim) Wanta; a son, Randy (Jill) Bricco; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Bricco; six granddaughters: Michelle (Steve) Stang, Mandy Jensen, Melanie Chally (Troy Bork), Pollyanna (Jason) Knapp, Pascha (Gordon) Zietlow, Mariah (Adam) Pringnitz; thirteen great-grandchildren: Hannah (Lucas) Boldt, Luke Jarchow, Jacob Malliet, Paige Delrow, Breanna Delrow, Hope Bricco, Bryce Chally, Hunter Knapp, Morgan Knapp, Gracie Zietlow, Brodie Zietlow, Brock Pringnitz, Dannica Pringnitz; a great-great-grandson, Landon Boldt due in February; sisters-in-law: Romona Murray and Norma (Bill) Novcaski; a brother-in-law, Bill (Gail) Spoehr; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry; brothers: Domain (Eunice), Leonard (Margie) and John; sisters: Fern (John) Lorge, Gladys (John) Martin, Irene (Bob) VanAdstine and Florence (Bob) Mathewson, an infant brother and sister.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of Loy's life will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bear Creek. Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
Memorials may be directed to St. Mary's Bear Creek Prayer Garden.

Larry was born August 26, 1949, son of Loy and Lorraine (Spoehr) Bricco. He was a proud graduate of Bear Creek High School in 1968. He was united in marriage to Barbara Houk on June 7, 1969. Larry served his country in the U.S. Army from 1969-1972. He was employed at Curwood, Inc. for 37 years, retiring in April of 2010. Larry was a former volunteer with the Big Brothers organization, the New London Fire Department and as an EMT for the New London Ambulance Service. Larry was an excellent cook and loved to make amazing meals for family, friends and co-workers. He was most proud of his chili having won many awards in Chili Cookoffs. He was happy to pass the recipe along to anyone who asked and liked to brag about the fact that his chili was made all over the country now. He also was a talented wood craftsman creating many projects that were all given to family members or friends. He was especially proud of 2 cedar hope chests he built. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in New London.
