    Obituary:
Norman M. Watermolen, 81, Allouez resident, died peacefully Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007, at a local hospital following a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure.
Norman was born March 22, 1926, in Green Bay to the late Philip and Emma (DeGrave) Watermolen.
Norm attended St. Norbert College, graduating in 1947 with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics.
He married the former Mary (Marian) Gerlikowski on June 12, 1948, at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church.
Shortly after his marriage, Norm went back to school to complete his master's degree at UW-Madison. He also taught mathematics at UW-Green Bay and UW-Madison while working on his doctorate.
Norman was involved with numerous endeavors throughout his life. In 1947, he began his 25 year teaching career as professor of mathematics at St. Norbert College.
During the same time period he established Watermolen Insurance and Realty. His primary development interests were in multi-family housing and at one time became the largest multi-family developer in Brown County. Norman also served in various capacities with the Brown County Homebuilders Association, and in numerous civic and local organizations.
In 1977, he became a partner in JJ Security Inc. which provided industrial security services, electronic monitoring systems and employed nearly 2,200 people nationwide. In 1982, he became sole proprietor of JJ Security. JJ Security eventually evolved into Pro-Tec Fire Services which provides contract fire protection and rescue services at airports in the U.S. and Canada. Norm took extreme pride in the fact that Pro-Tec Fire Services was the pioneer in this market and continues to be a leader in the industry. Norm remained active in all his ventures until his health prevented him from doing so.
Norm's successes throughout his life provided him with the opportunity to give back to the community. One of the things he was especially proud of was the day he commissioned the life-sized bronze sculpture of St. Norbert for the campus of St. Norbert College. Norm was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Angels Parish and was actively involved in the education of his family. Throughout his life Norm enjoyed golfing and playing cribbage (especially outsmarting his opponent). He thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in various sporting activities and was an avid Packers fan.
Norm is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James and Jane Watermolen, Abrams; Richard Watermolen, Suamico; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Mark Christensen, Susan and Russ Curtis, all of Bellevue; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Jessica and Christopher Christensen, Jenna, Reid, Marissa "Mari" and Allison "Alli" Curtis; one great- grandchild, Brady; one brother and sister-in-law, Merlin (Eleanore) Watermolen, Green Bay; one brother-in-law, Norbert Gerlikowski, Green Bay; seven nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Antone and Helen (Danielski) Gerlikowski.
Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Thursday from 3 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday at St. Mary of the Angels Church, corner of Cass Street and Irwin Avenue, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the church with Rev. Tom Wojciechowski, OFM, officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be sent to Norm's family at www.prokowall.com .
Norm's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to caregiver, Joyce Tomcheck, who gave numerous hours of loving care to Norm; also special thanks to the 4th floor nurses and staff at Bellin Hospital; Doctors Timmons, McHenry, MacDonald and Amy James for all the care and compassion given to Norm and his family.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in Norm's name.
Norm will always be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and proud grandpa and great grandpa. He was a special man who was generous with his time and talents and will be sadly missed.
