    Obituary:
    William J. Pingel, age 75, Bowler, died Thursday, February 4, 1965 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Appleton.
    He was born October 12, 1889 in Clintonville, the son of the late William Pingel.
    On November 3, 1909 William was united in marriage to Martha Kraut in Clintonville. She survives.
    In addition to his wife, survivors include six sons, William (Martha), Birnamwood, Roy (Marie), Bowler, Harold, Chicago, Martin, Shawano, Wilfred, Peshtigo and Rhynold, Hortonville; nine daughters, Norma (Victor) Tennie, Greenville, Irene (Allan) Jensen, Wittenberg, Marion Griesbach, Appleton, Laverna (Richard) Lemke, Appleton, Arline (Alison) Rosemeyer, California, Helen (Earl) Oestreich, Neenah, Jeanette (Thomas) Fallon, Milwaukee, Jean (Dale) Tenner, Milwaukee and Martha Ardis (Robert) Engelein, Galesville; 65 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Pingel, Bonduel; one sister, Mary Heyn, Idaho.
    William was preceded in death by his father and one granddaughter, JoAnne Jensen.
    Funeral services were held February 7, 1965 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Bowler. The Rev. Adelbert Stoehr officiated. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, town of Almon.

    Norma V. (Pingel) Tennie, 91, Green Bay, formerly of Greenville, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2008. She was born June 1, 1917, in Bowler, Wis., to William and Martha (Kraut) Pingel. On Oct. 24, 1944, she married Victor Tennie at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. Victor and Norma were the dispatchers of the Greenville Volunteer Fire Department for many years. She was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Parish in Greenville, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers Society. She was very active in the Greenville community as a volunteer.
    From 1945 to 1989, Victor and Norma owned and operated Tennie's Tavern. In her retirement, she kept busy with her family. Norma loved spending time with her grandchildren.
    Survivors include her five children, Larry and Bonnie Tennie, Dick and Julie Tennie, Carol and Bob Burtch, John and Lynne Tennie, Pat and Ted Springer; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, six sisters, two brothers, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor; her parents, two grandsons, four brothers and three sisters.
    Friends may call at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, N2385 Municipal Dr., Greenville, Wis., from noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Mark P. Vander Steeg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

    Rhynold A. Pingel, age 87, Clintonville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, following a brief illness. Rhynold was born on October 14, 1923, son of the late William and Martha (Kraut) Pingel. He was an WWII Veteran, serving in the US Army in Germany during the occupation. On October 14, 1949, Rhynold was united in marriage to Joyce Gibson in Neenah. He lived and farmed in the Bowler area and later in the Readfield area for many years. He also formerly worked for Fox Tractor in Appleton. Rhynold had a passion for music and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling, dancing, hunting, and playing cards.
    Rhynold is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Gloria (Tom) Clinton, Bear Creek; four sons: Gregory Pingel, Clintonville; Gayle (Debbie) Pingel, Appleton; Grayling (Pat) Pingel, Green Bay; Grant (Sherri) Pingel, New London; a brother, Wilfred Pingel, Shawano; five sisters, Laverna (Dick) Lemke, Appleton; Jean (Dale) Tenner, Black River Falls; Jeanette (Hans) Piel, West Allis; Ardys (Bill) Niebling, Montello and Arline Rosemeyer, Castro Valley, CA. He is further survived by nine grandchildren: Travis, Sheila, Amy, Carrie, Cheli, Rob, Joe, Josh, and Melissa; eight great grandchildren, and also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters.
    Funeral services for Rhynold will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Residence Chapel, New London with Rev. Dave Uden officiating. Visitation will be held at the Chapel on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1PM. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Military Graveside rites will be held.

    Obituary:
    Laverna E. (Pingel) Lemke, age 91, of Appleton, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 18, 2016 after a brief illness. She was born July 1, 1925 in Bowler, WI, the daughter of the late William and Martha (Kraut) Pingel. She was one of 16 children who grew up on the farm in Bowler. She married the "love of her life," Richard W. Lemke, on September 10, 1947 at St. Mary Church in Menasha, WI and they recently celebrated 69 years of marriage.
    Laverna will be especially remembered as a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was very giving in nature and would always help anyone in need. She loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, time at the cottage, hosting parties, reading, and cooking.
    She will be deeply missed by her husband, Richard "Dick" W. Lemke, and her children: Marlene (David) Radloff, Fort Collins, CO, Beverly (David) Stone, Salt Lake City, UT, Richard N. (Barbara) Lemke, Appleton, Roger Luca, Tallahassee, FL, Davina (Charles) Moorehead, Appleton, and Scott (Jean) Lemke, Kaukauna. She will also be missed by her 8 grandchildren: Corie, Crystal, Cally, Melissa, Christina, Eric, Wil, and Jarrod, and also her 8 great grandchildren: Tyson, Austin, Logan, Wesley, Anabel, Bentley, Cole, Kylie, and another one on the way!
    She is also survived by 3 sisters and 1 sister-in-law: Arline "Sue" (Al) Rosemeyer, Castro Valley, CA, Jean (Dale) Tenner, Black River Falls, WI, Ardis (Bill) Niebling, Montello, WI, and sister-in-law Joyce (Rhynold) Pingel, Clintonville.
    Laverna was preceded in death by her parents; 6 brothers; 6 sisters; one daughter, Brenda (Lemke) Luca; and one grandson, Jeremy Moorehead.
    A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 am on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton, with Father Dennis Bergsbaken officiating. Friends and relatives may visit from 9 to 10:45 am in the Sacred Heart Room at church. Entombment will take place at Riverside Cemetery following the luncheon. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
    The family would like to give special thanks to the nursing staff on the 8th floor at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton and the staff at the Appleton Retirement Community for their tender care given to Laverna.
    Laverna will be truly missed by family, relatives, and friends, but we know her memory will live on in our hearts and minds until we meet again. You will always be remembered. We love you forever and forever!!

    Brenda E. (Lemke) Luca, 50, Tallahassee, Fla., formerly of Appleton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, with her husband at her side after a courageous battle with cancer. Brenda was born on June 24, 1957, in Appleton, Wis., to Richard W. and Laverna (Pingel) Lemke. She graduated from Appleton East High School in 1975 and attended U.W. Eau Claire. After graduating in 1980 with a Chemistry/Business degree, Brenda moved to Ohio, working at B. F. Goodrich where she met her future husband. Brenda was united in marriage to Roger Luca on Aug. 25, 1984, in Appleton, Wis. They moved to Pougkeepsie, N.Y., from Ohio until their final move in 1988 with their young family to Tallahassee, Fla.
    In addition to devoting her time and self to her husband and twin boys, Brenda also was successful in the business world for years. In Tallahassee she was a tireless volunteer and raised funds for many organizations and charities. She especially loved tutoring children, which she did both in Ohio and Florida. Brenda and her husband started the Roger and Brenda Luca Family Endowment through the Tallahassee Healthcare Foundation at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The Endowment goal is to help cancer patients who don't have adequate health insurance and don't qualify for Medicaid.
    Brenda is survived by her husband, Roger Luca; her twin sons, Wil and Jarrod Luca, Tallahassee, Fla.; her parents, Richard W. and Laverna (Pingel) Lemke, Appleton; three sisters, Marlene (David) Radloff, Ft.     Brenda will be truly missed by family, relatives, and friends. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Brenda impacted all the lives she touched with her optimism, sense of humor, strength, and compassion for others. Brenda's spirit will live on forever.
