Obituary:
Walter E. Zachow (Hix), 907 W. Sherry St., Neenah, age 78, passed away Tuesday morning, May 13, 1986 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born April 16, 1908 in the Town of Clayton. He was the son of the late Louis and Delia (Haase) Zachow. He had been a Neenah area resident for most of his life. He was a member of Martin Luther Church, Neenah; a former employee of the Courtney-Plummer Company, Neenah; retiring in 1972. He was a charter member of Ducks Unlimited; and a very ardent hunter. He was married to Ella Mongon Neumann on October 8, 1983. He is survived by his widow; a son, Earl, St. Petersburg, Florida; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; he is also survived by a good friend, Roy Peterson, Town of Clayton. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lillian, in 1965; his second wife, Vivian, in 1983; a son, Ronald, in 1976; a sister, Mrs. Floyd (Lilah) Acheson. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday from the Martin Luther Church with the Rev. Richard Maurice officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Westgor Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Friday at the church from noon until the hour of service. A memorial has been established.
