    Weldon B. Glenn, 84, of Waco, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at a local hospital. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Rosemound Cemetery with the Rev. A. W. Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at Bellmead Funeral Home.
    Weldon was born in Golinda, Texas, to the late Robert James and Mary Alice (Hudgens) Glenn. He lived almost all of his life in McLennan County. Born to share croppers, he learned early in life that he would have to struggle to survive. He began picking cotton at the age of five as his large family worked hard at living through the great depression. He often told us stories of these hard times and it was obvious that he had suffered many lasting impressions in his youth. At age of 13, he went to work in the Texas Textile Mill and worked there until they closed. He then worked for the City of Waco Street Department until his retirement in 1987 after 33 years. He was a past member of the Primrose Baptist Church. His motto was that everyone should have to pick cotton so that they would appreciate what they have in life. He was a hard worker and enjoyed laughter.
    He was preceded in death by a grandson, William "Theo" Garvin; brothers, Chester Lee Glenn and Elza Estes Glenn; sisters, Flora Katherine Glenn and Vera Odell Buckner.
    Survivors include his son, Danny Glenn and his wife, Helen, of Waco; daughter, Charlotte Garvin, of Waco; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Cleo Pack, of Marbury, Ala., Phyllis Whitley and Linda Linden, both of Ft. Worth; and many other family members and friends.

    Charlotte Ann Garvin, 61, of Elm Mott passed away at her home, Monday June 7, 2010. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 11, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
    Charlotte was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Weldon and Ann Glenn. She attended Waco schools and lived in the Waco area for the past 28 years. Charlotte worked for the Oak Farm Dairy, in the office for 25 years. She was a very generous and loving person who was always willing to listen and help anyway she could. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and researching her family history.
    She was preceded in death by a son, William "Theo" Garvin, Jr.
    She is survived by sons, Phillip Garvin of Waco, and Robert Garvin and wife, Tina, of Elm Mott; grandsons, Robert Jr. and Alexander Garvin, of Elm Mott; and brother, Dan Spurlin and wife Helen of Waco; many loving nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family and special friends.
