Engel, Florence E.Florence E. Engel, 89, Menasha, passed away Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at h er home. She was born April 18, 1916, in the Town of Cicero, Wis., the dau ghter of the late Sanford and Velma (Thiel) Sylvester. Florence was unit ed in marriage to Roy Engel on Sept. 18, 1940, in Seymour. He preceded h er in death on April 27, 1990. Florence’s family was the most important pa rt of her life. She enjoyed spending time with family, and loved their fam ily gatherings. She was a long-time member of Emmanuel United Methodist Ch urch, and supported the Wyclisse organization. Crossword puzzles and Scrab ble were her favorite pastimes.Survivors include her son, Dennis (Barb Gibbons-Engel) Madison; her daught ers, Jeanne Garvin, Menasha, and Barbara (Paul) Sturn, Neenah; a son-in-la w, Robert Dinse, Winneconne. There are 11 grandchildren, Kirsten Engel (R on Miller), Jennifer Engel, Corissa Engel (Matt Nodich), Asa Engel, Lon Ga rvin, Heather (Brent) Senske, Joseph (Jean) Angell, Nickolas Angell, Emi ly Dinse, Sheila Sturn, and Renee Sturn; and four great- grandchildren, Ty ler Engel, Kyla Nodich, Lon Hadler, and Maiah Garvin.Florence was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Dinse; two grandson s, Andrew Sturn and Matthew Dinse; two sisters, Mildred Kluge and Arline E ngel; and two brothers, Gordon Sylvester and Willard Sylvester.Funeral services for Florence will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, 200 5, at WICHMANN TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 3212 S. Oneida St., Menasha, with Rev. M ark Geisthardt officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Park C emetery, Menasha. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of servic es at the funeral home. A memorial in her name is being established.
