My Dad was a well known cattle dealer in Hollandtown. I came from a family of six. All are in Heaven now, except one Sister and Brother. I entered the convent as a Junior from St. Francis School in Hollandtown. I was a primary teacher for 53 years. All but three in the first grade. I loved them dearly. At present I am a volunteer at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Ohio. I like that ,also. I taught in Hawaii ,Michigan, Arizona, Illinois,and Wisconsin. Join the Convent ...See the world!!!     Sister Anne Brochtrup, age 91, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Thursday morning, May 4, 2017 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
    The former Mary Alice Brochtrup was born on May 21, 1925 in Hollandtown, Wisconsin, daughter of the late William & Anna (Arts) Brochtrup and step-daughter of the late Rosella (Arts) Brochtrup. She entered the Convent in 1940 and professed her vows in 1943. Sister Anne earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc. Sister Anne served as a teacher at St. Therese, St. Pius X, St. Thomas More, all in Appleton; St. Mary, Brillion, St. Joseph, Sturgeon Bay, St. Joseph, Green Bay, and Holy Cross, Kaukauna, Wisconsin; Immaculate Conception, Yuma, Arizona; St. Willibrord, Chicago, Illinois; Catholic Central, Menominee, St. Peter, Marquette, and St. Francis de Sales, Manistique, Michigan; Cathedral, Honolulu and St. Theresa, Kekaha, Hawaii. After retiring from teaching, Sister Anne served in various ministries at Good Samaritan, Zanesvile, Ohio and St. Mary, Kaukauna; St. Agnes, Green Bay; and St. Francis, Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Since April 2017 she had been a resident of St. Rita Health Center. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
    Survivors include The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; one brother: Carlos, and one sister-in-law: Isabelle Brochtrup. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: William, Anna (Arts) and Rosella (Arts) Brochtrup; two brothers: Rev. Eugene Brochtrup, Roland; and two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Gladys (Leo) Haen and Gloria (Linus) VanderLoop.
    Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Placid Stroik, O.F.M. with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.

    The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday (TODAY), May 5, 2017. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Friends may also call Saturday morning at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

    Memorial contributions may be made to support retired Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, in care of FSCC Retirement Fund, Holy Family Convent, 2409 S. Alverno Rd., Manitowoc, WI 54220

    Vanderloop, Gloria Jane Greenleaf' Formerly of Hollandtown, Age 83, joined her son William "Billy" and daughter Mary Carla in heaven on Friday, September 26, 2014 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. She was born on April 12, 1931 in the Town of Holland, daughter of the late William and Rosella (Arts) Brochtrup. On January 3, 1951, she was united in marriage to Linus W. Vanderloop at St. Francis Church in Hollandtown by Gloria's brother, Fr. Eugene Brochtrup. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage. Gloria loved to bake, make homemade candies, canning, playing cards, needlework, swimming, and being together with family and friends.
    She is survived by her husband, Linus; her children: Gerald (Lynn Blackwell) Vanderloop, Debra Kay (Steven) Kessler, Cynthia Marie (David) Luedtke, and Andrew (the late Sandra) Vanderloop; eleven grandchildren: Jeremy (Rebecca) Vanderloop, Anna (Anthony) Warpinski, George Vanderloop, Sarah Kessler (Jacob Laub), Richard Kessler, Matthew Luedtke, Hannah Luedtke, Jacob (Bryttany Biesemeier) Vanderloop, Seth Vanderloop, Caleb Vanderloop,and Ian Vanderloop; six great-grandchildren: Helen, Katherine, Madeline, Elijah, Linus, and Brentyn. She is further survived by a sister, Sr. Anne Brochtrup; a brother, Carlos Brochtrup; a sister-in-law, Isabelle Brochtrup, and in-laws: Pat Vanderloop, Daniel (Toni) Vanderloop, Carol VanZeeland, Mary Anne (Cletus) Feldkamp, Paul (Wilma) Vanderloop. and Shirley Vanderloop.     The Mass of Christian Burial for Gloria will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at St. Francis Church, County CE, Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors and Fr. Willard Van De Loo concelebrating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive in Kaukauna on Monday (TODAY) from 4-7 PM where a parish prayer service will conclude the evening and again on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Gloria's name is being established.

    Karen Brochtrup Crawford, age 51, formerly of Kaukauna, passed away in Jackson, Tennessee. Services for Karen will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH - ST. FRANCIS CHURCH in Hollandtown, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends may call at the church on Friday morning from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.

    Crawford, Karen M. (Nee: Brochtrup)
    Karen Marie Crawford, age 51, passed away with her family by her side in Jackson, Tennessee, after a brief illness on September 5, 2010. She was born September 3, 1959, the daughter of Isabelle (Lamers) Brochtrup and the late Roland Brochtrup. Karen loved to travel. She lived many years in Germany and Italy before making her home in Tennessee. Karen also loved working with special needs children. She always had a place in her heart for them.
    Karen is lovingly survived by her mother, Isabelle Brochtrup of Little Chute; children: John (Stephanie), Fanetha (Jason), Wendolyn (Torris), Kimme (George), Kimberly (Eddie); nine grandchildren; brothers: Gary (Sue) Brochtrup of Appleton, Dan (Dianne) Brochtrup of Brillion, Tom Brochtrup (special friend, Paula) of Greenville, Randy (Mary) Brochtrup of Appleton; sister, Judy Kantelberg of Kaukauna, and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Karen is preceded in death by her sons: Nathan and Michael.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010, at St. Katherine Drexel-St. Francis Church, 433 Cty. Road CE in Hollandtown, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
