    Buchholz, Betty A.Betty A. Buchholz, age 74, of Oregon, WI, formerly of Clintonville, pass ed away Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at the St. Mary's Hospital, Madiso n. Betty was born on December 12, 1931, near Caroline in the Township of G rant, Shawano County, the daughter of the late George and Margaret (Fran k) Schewe. She later moved with her family to a farm near Marion. The fami ly later moved to Clintonville where Betty graduated from Clintonville Hi gh School in 1949. On December 30, 1950, she married James Howard Buchho lz in Tucson, AZ. The couple lived in Clintonville until 1961 when they mo ved into a home that they built themselves, on Hwy. 45 between Clintonvil le and Marion. In addition to raising seven children, Betty was an acti ve member of Christus Lutheran Church, Clintonville. At Christus, she taug ht Sunday School for many years and participated in many other church func tions. When her children were all in school, she began working at Everson 's Super Value Grocery Store, Clintonville. Her husband, James preceded h er in death on December 13, 1979. After her youngest daughter graduated fr om high school, Betty moved to Madison, WI.where she worked at WPS Insuran ce, for 11 years, retiring in 1998. She lived her later years with her so n, Steve, in his home between Oregon and Stoughton, WI. There, she enjoy ed watching the horses on the farm across the road and the birds that freq uented her many feeders. She especially enjoyed the visits from her grandc hildren and great-grandchildren who never ceased to make her smile.
    Survivors include six daughters: Patricia (Brian) Duffy, Green Bay; Nan cy Christensen, Oregon, WI; Janice (Russ) Miller, Cottage Grove, WI; Bob bi (Doug) Malueg, Marion; Susan (Scott) Van Gompel, Appleton; Pamela (Jose ph) Vollmer, Kohler; her son, Steven Buchholz, Oregon, WI; 16 grandchildre n, eight step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, her sisters-in-la w: Lois Colden, Dallas, TX; Betty J. Mielke, Appleton; Shirley (Don) Golt z, Clintonville; her brothers-in-law: Elmer Rohde, Marion; John Polzin, Cl intonville; Bill (Marvel) Buchholz, Wheaton, MN; Tom (Milanne) Buchholz, S tevens Point; numerous nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James; her brothe r, Lawrence Schewe; two sisters; Bernice Polzin and May Rohde, and her gre at-granddaughter, Sydney Prickette.
    Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 5, 2006, at the Ch ristus Lutheran Church, Clintonville with the Rev. Willard Hager officiati ng. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends m ay call from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 4th, at the Eberhardt-Steve nson Funeral Home, Clintonville and from 10 a.m. Thursday at the church un til the time of the service.
