    Erna A. Heimann, age 88, of New Holstein, formerly of Hilbert and Chilton, died on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at the Calumet Homestead in New Holstein. She was born January 22, 1919, in Reedsville, daughter of the late William & Clara (Freuck) Behnke. She married Arnold Heimann on June 16, 1937, at St. Martin Catholic Church in Charlestown. The couple worked together on their farm until May 4, 1965, when the farm burned down. Erna then worked in the cafeteria at Chilton High School, drove school bus and later worked for Chilton Metal Products. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert and was a former 4-H leader, a former member of the Christian Women, Eagles Club and the German Club of Wisconsin. Arnold preceded her in death on May 31, 1981.
    Survivors include her children: Joanne (Daniel) Thiel, Hilbert; Beverly (James) Lehrer, Kaukauna; Arnold Jr. (Millie) Heimann, Chilton; Bonnie (Alfred) Schneider, Hilbert; 15 grandchildren: Diane (Gary) Hemauer, Hilbert; Donna Schwalenberg, Hilbert; and her special friend "Pidge" Parson, Gary (Marisa) Thiel, Hilbert; Tom (Beckie) Thiel, Hilbert; Sue (Gary) Greely, Appleton; Joe (Betty) Lehrer, Kaukauna; Andy (Julie) Lehrer, Appleton; Lynn Lehrer (Jim Reitz), Seattle, WA; Tammy Lehrer, Kaukauna and special friend Isaac, Holly (Monroe) Clark, N.C.; Keith (Brenda) Heimann, Appleton; Brad (Ann) Heimann, Fond du Lac; Troy (Peggy) Schneider, DePere; Kelly (Eric) Thiel, Hilbert; Ryan (Ann) Schneider, Hilbert; 25 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Rosie Hauser, Brillion; two sisters-in-law: Rita (Ray) Manderscheid, Hermina (Art) Gilles; and special friends: Billy (Shirley) Bankenbusch.
    Erna was also preceded in death by two brothers: Elroy (Esther) Behnke, Leslie (Jeannette) Behnke; brothers and sisters-in-law: Earl Hauser, Leander Heimann, Herb (Hattie) Heimann, Lydia (Greg) Gilles, and Donald Halbach.
    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert. Burial will follow in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Chilton. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4 until 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2007, and on Friday at the church from 9 until 11 a.m. when services will be held. A parish vigil service will be held on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Erna A. Heimann. Online Condolences
