Leanor Kay Alsteen, 57, Neenah, died Saturday afternoon, March 21, 2009, at Vallhaven Care Center, Neenah, Wis. She was born on Oct. 25, 1951, on Port Washington, Wis., the daughter of the late Melvit and Elenore (McGuire) Holtz. She was a graduate of Homestead High School in Mequon, Wis., and from the Wisconsin School of Cosmetology of Green Bay, Wis. Leanor was employed at Thiensville Beauty Shop for 26 years, which was owned and operated by her mother. She married Alex Alsteen on January 24, 1974, in Rhinelander, Wis. They made their home in Thiensville, in 1997 moved to Redgranite, Wis., and since 2006 she has been a resident at Vallhaven Care Center, Neenah, Wis.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, Wis., and a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge of Appleton, Wis.
Leanor is survived by her husband, Alex Alsteen, Menasha, Wis.; one brother and sister-in-law, Melvit and Mary Holtz of Billings, Montana; two nephews, Mel (Tracy) Holtz and Steve Holtz, all of Sheridan, Wyo.; and one great niece. Along with her parents she was also preceded in death by her favorite uncle, Richard McGuire.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, with Pastor Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh, Wis. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:30 A.M. until the hour of Services.
