Obituary:
Marjorie L. Lane, 78, Appleton, passed away after a short illness Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born August 25, 1930, to the late Fernald and Lorraine (Werner) Cavert in Appleton. Marjorie married William Lane on January 7, 1967, and he preceded her in death November 30, 2008. She worked at Riverside Paper Company for over 35 years retiring in 1993. She was a past member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and Moose Lodge #365. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, crossword puzzles and — most of all — time spent with her grandchildren and family.
Marjorie is survived by a son, James Lane, Appleton; three daughters: Marcia (Randy) Latham, Appleton; Tina (John) Keen, Appleton; and Jennifer Nelson, Fond du Lac; 11 grandchildren: Randi, Ryan and Rachel Latham; Andrew Schmitt; Joshua and Zachary Keen; Tristen Lane; Samuel Chimielwski; Jesse (fiancee Erica), Tina and Carl (fiancee Amy) Nelson; three sisters: Ellen Cavert, Mary Kortz and Diane (Clyde) Yarne; two brothers: Fernald Jr. (Phyllis) Cavert and Robert (Barbara) Cavert; three godchildren; two close friends: Anne Leask and Joan Roberts; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Marjorie will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Valley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Engle officiating. Entombment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Friends may visit the family Wednesday from 4 -8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service Thursday morning. A memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to thank Appleton Medical Center I.C.U. staff especially nurse Travis and Dr. Gene Rigstad and his staff for their wonderful care of Marjorie.
