    Jadell K. "Jay" Ferge, age 66, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born on March 19, 1943, in New London, daughter of the late Clarence and Martha (Rast) Ferge. Jadell graduated from Washington High School, class of 1961. She attended Appleton Vocational School from 1961 to 1962. In 1962, she joined the Women's Army Corps, serving in numerous positions until 1969. She received many letters and certificates of commendations. She was honorably discharged in 1969 as a Staff Sergeant. She began working for the City of Appleton in 1969, becoming the City Clerk in 1983, holding that position until 1992. She then served as the Village Clerk and Treasurer for the Village of West Milwaukee, until she retired in 1998. Jadell was also a certified Municipal Clerk with the Wisconsin Municipal and Clerks Association and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. She served on several committees within the Wisconsin Municipal Clerks Association, receiving several awards and plaques. She was most proud of her Distinguished Service Award she received from the Association. She enjoyed crocheting, counted cross stitch and reading. She was a life-long member of Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church in New London.
    She is survived by her sister, Marlene Ferge, New London; two brothers, Lawrence (Eleanora) Ferge, New London; Richard (Sharon) Ferge, Tigerton; two sisters-in-law, Laurene Ferge, Nichols, and Dorothy Ferge, Waupaca. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Ronald, James and Clarence Jr., a sister, Beatrice Potter; brother-in-law, Richard Potter; and two nieces.
    The Christian Funeral for Jadell will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. Brian Henning officiating. Friends may call at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London on Friday, February 26, from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery.
