Obituary:
August J. "Augie" Frisch, 77, Neenah, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Theda Clark Medical Center, following a long battle with lung fibrosis. Augie was born August 29, 1932, in New Holstein, son of the late August and Elda (Hajenga) Frisch. He was a graduate of New Holstein High School and attended Mission House College (Lakeland). August served in the U.S. Army in Fort Belvoir, VA. While in the service he married his wife of 57 years, Edith Wagner. He later attended watch making school in Milwaukee at the Technical College. Augie worked for Kohbeck Jewelry in Milwaukee and Diederich Jewelry in Fond du Lac until 1960 when he and Edith purchased Tennies Jewelry in Appleton. Augie retired after selling the store to his son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Karen Frisch. He was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club, both in Florida and a former member of the Optimist Club, Appleton. Augie enjoyed dancing, hunting geese in Collins Marsh, golfing in Florida while at his condo, and boating on his boat "Heidi-Ho." He also enjoyed dining out with friends.
Augie is survived by his wife, Edith, Neenah; a daughter, Heidi (Terry) Frisch Krause, Oshkosh; a son, Brian (Karen) Frisch, Oshkosh; two granddaughters: Rebecca (Nick) Frisch Juedes, Danielle Krause (fiance Joshua Wara), all of Oshkosh; a grandson, Jacob (Lisa) Frisch; a great-grandson, Carter Juedes, both of Oshkosh; a brother, Walt (Mary) Frisch, New Holstein; a sister-in-law, Judy (Keith) Kohlmann, Naples, FL; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Augie was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Kim Frisch.
A celebration of Augie's life will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2010, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial Street, Neenah. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. Sunday until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the nursing staff on the 2nd floor at Theda Clark, and the ER and ICU staffs, also Drs. Sekhar, Bellg and Schiedermayer.
