    Sanders, Ralph J. "Sparky"Ralph J. "Sparky" Sanders, Menasha, age 88, passed away Saturday May 22, 2 004 following a short illness. Sparky was born June 18, 1915 in Little Chu te the son of the late Stephen and Anna (Koehne) Sanders. He resided a ll of his life in the Fox Valley except for several years in the militar y. Ralph was formerly employed as an accountant for the Wisconsin-Michig an Power Co. for many years, retiring in 1976. He was proud to have serv ed his country during WWII with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. Spar ky was involved in many activities during his life including being o ne of the organizers of Little League Baseball and the Babe Ruth Leag ue in Appleton, assisting with the Americanos Drum and Bugle Corp., a Pa st Commander of VFW Harvey-Pierre Post #2778 of Appleton, member of Americ an Legion Post #38 of Appleton, the Appleton Moose Lodge, Military Ord er of Cooties, and the Golden K's. Sparky enjoyed all kinds of sports a nd played semi-pro football for the Flying Dutchman of Little Chute. He al so enjoyed baseball, bowling, golfing, the Packers, Chicago Cubs, and h is getaways to Chute Pond. Sparky enjoyed life to the fullest and always r emained faithful to his God, Family, and Country.Ralph will be deeply missed by his wife Joyce (Kruckeberg) Sanders of Mena sha; 3 sons Robert (Amy) Sanders of Kaukauna; Michael (Shirley) Sande rs of Appleton and their children Deborah (Paul) Crowe, Mickey and Rebec ca Sanders; and Stephen (Jan) Sanders of Manitowoc and their children Be au and Quinn; 3 great grandchildren Emerald, Jeremy and Alex Crowe. A brot her Robert (Bonnie) Sanders and a sister Peggy DeCoster.In addition to his parents, Sparky was preceded in death by an infant daug hter Suzanne, his former wife Rose, 5 sisters Rita Hett and Helen Weigma n, Marie Sanderfoot Viola and Dorothy; 4 brothers Earl, Frank, Jim, and Al vin.The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 11AM Tuesday May 25th at St. J ohn Catholic Church in Menasha, 516 DePere St, with Fr. Paul Radetski offi ciating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Cemetery with full mi litary honors provided by VFW Post #2778. Friends may call at the Brettsch neider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel from 5-7PM Monday and then direct ly at the church from 10AM Tuesday until the time of the service.
