    Died – On Tuesday morning, Nov. 6, 1906, Mrs. Thos. Carroll died at her home in the town of Rantoul at the age of 69 years. Catherine Cronin was born in the County Cork, Ireland, in 1837 and remained in her native home until 1856 when she came to America with a relative and after remaining a short time in the east came west and found employment with a farmer in Fond du Lac County. Here she became acquainted with Thos. Carroll to whom she was married in 1860. The following year they moved into the town of Rantoul, this county, and located on the farm on which she lived until her death. For about three years Mrs. Carroll had been in poor health. She was a loving wife and devoted mother, a kind and obliging neighbor and true friend. She was a devout member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church and always took a deep interest in church work. She leaves a husband, two sons, Michael, of Milwaukee, John of Rantoul, and two daughters, Mrs. Chas, King of Rantoul and Mrs. J.C. Lerum of Wausau, all of whom were in attendance at the funeral which was held from St. Augustine's church Thursday morning.

    Catherine married Carroll, Thomas Abt 1860. Thomas was born Abt 1830, , , , Ireland; died 31 Aug 1912, Rantoul, Calumet, Wisconsin, USA; was buried , St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery, Chilton, Calumet, Wisconsin. [Group Sheet]

    JOHN J. CARROLL, 90, of the Town of Rantoul, died Wednesday evening at Calumet Memorial Hospital at Chilton. He had been in ill health the past several months.
    Born in Town Rantoul on Dec. 6, 1868, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Carroll, he was a retired farmer. For many years he served as a director of the Nicolet rural school in Town Rantoul. He was married to Belle Short on Oct. 20, 1896, at St. Augustus Catholic Church in Chilton, and they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1946. She passed away on July 22, 1950. Two brothers and one sister also preceded him in death.
    Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Frances Laughrin, Mrs. Joseph (Bernadette) Bollmer, Mrs. Henry (Clara) Mathes, and Mrs. Coletta Meyer of Hilbert, and Mrs. Daniel (Dorothy) Skahen of Town Rantoul; three sons, George and John at home, and James of Milwaukee; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Lerum of Kansas City, Mo.
    Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. at the Pfeffer Funeral Home at Chilton and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustus Church with the Rev. Roland Ahearn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
