Obituary:
Sister Vera Nagan, 93, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died early Tuesday morning, December 22, 1987 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday at Holy Family Convent Chapel. The Rev. Basil Janasik O.F.M. will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in Holy Family Convent Cemetery. Anna Mary Nagan was born December 19, 1894 at Kaukauna, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Philoman and Anna Bach Nagan. She entered the convent in 1918 and professed her vows in 1921. Sister Nagan obtained her teaching credits from the Central State Teachers College of Stevens Point and taught at Zanesville, Ohio; Rhinelander, Wisconsin; Manistique, Michigan and served as Principal of St. John's, Komatke. Sister Nagan also worked in the Administration Office of the Good Samaritan Hospital of Zanesville and moved to the Motherhouse in 1943. Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, 4 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, where a prayer service will be 7 pm. Pfeffer Fuenral Home, Manitowoc, assisted in funeral arrangements.
