    Rose Mary Brantmeier, of Brewster Village, formerly of Sherwood, age 84, d ied peacefully on December 26, 2004, after an undeserved but inspiration al battle against the cruel ravages of Alzheimer's Disease. Rose Mary w as born April 5, 1920, and liked to say she lived on Military Road sou th of Highway 10 her entire life. The daughter of late Henry and Elizabe th (Jackels) Schmidt, Rose Mary attended St. Francis School, Hollandtow n, and graduated from St. John High School, Little Chute, in 1937. Rose Ma ry was devoted to family, education and young people. One of the first wom en in her circle to go to college, she graduated from Outagamie Rural Norm al Teacher's College in 1939 and taught all eight grades at Henry Clay Sch ool (West of Sherwood) until 1942.Rose Mary married the love of her life, Hilard Brantmeier, on Aug 11, 194 2, at St. Francis Church in Hollandtown. They owned and operated Hilrose D airy Farm in Sherwood for nearly a half-century, progressively embracing n ew agricultural technologies to make farming more efficient. Rose Mary w as a 4-H leader for decades, teaching Sewing and Foods to youth in the She rwood Wide Awake 4-H Club.In June, 1975, after many years of substitute teaching and ten years of ta king one class each semester, Rose Mary achieved her lifelong dream of get ting her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from the University of Wi sconsin-Oshkosh. She then taught second grade at St. John-Sacred Heart Sch ool in Sherwood until her retirement in 1981.
    Rose Mary was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Parish, Sherwood, where s he sang in the choir, counted weekly collection money, and helped out in t he school library. When she lost Hilard on November 21, 1986, she stoical ly set about making a new life for herself. She was a member of the Darti ng Needles Quilting Guild, sewing dozens of keepsake quilts, table runne rs and Christmas tree skirts for lucky recipients. She was on the Boa rd of Sherwood Cliffs Senior Apartments, a Sherwood Board of Elections po ll worker, and involved in many volunteer activities, receiving the Sherwo od Jaycee Golden Citizen Award in 1993.
    Rose Mary was the ideal sports fan, loyally cheering on her beloved tea ms through thick and thin. She reveled in the success of the Milwaukee Bra ves, Wisconsin Badgers and especially the Green Bay Packers. An original P acker season ticket holder, she was in attendance at many legendary Pack er victories, including the famous 1967 Ice Bowl against Dallas. More rece ntly, as a die-hard Brewers' fan, she never gave up hope of seeing them w in a World Series one day.
    Rose Mary always considered her greatest achievement to be her family. S he is survived by 8 children, 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildr en: John (Linda) Brantmeier, Appleton, and their daughters Kristin and Kat ie; Marge (Gene) VanAsten, Little Chute, and their children Chris and Carr ie; Kathie (Jon) Marsh, Townsend, and their children Jina and Jeremy Jone n; Mary Beth (Peter) Pankratz, Appleton, and their son Bob (Haley); Joe (C hris) Brantmeier, Sherwood, and their children Sara (Lynn) Harbaugh, An dy and Jeff; Carol (Dave) Roche, Mequon; Mike (Carol) Brantmeier, Sherwoo d, and their children Mandy (Chris) VandenWyngaard, Josh, Sam and Michae l; Sharon (Randy Shaver) Brantmeier, Cottage Grove, and their daughters, A llison and Elizabeth; and her great-granddaughters Samantha and Sabrina Pa nkratz and Alexa Vanden Wynggard.
    Rose Mary is further survived by her sisters Loraine (Don) Brink, Ephrai m; Lucy (Dan) Spencer, Stockton, MO; and brothers Arthur (Marian) Schmid t, New London; Len (Lorrie) Schmidt, Hollandtown; and sister-in-law Rosema ry Brantmeier, Appleton, one step sister, Ann Marie (Fran) Kempen, Kaukaun a, a step brother and two step sisters-in-law, Ralph (Grace) Schmidt a nd Ev Schmidt all of Hollandtown, numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre ceded in death by her husband, her parents, her step mother, Mary Schmid t, two brothers, Clarence and Andrew; her sisters-in-law Jeannie Schmidt a nd Bernice Stehula; and brothers-in-law, Julius Stehula and Andrew Brantme ier, a step brother, Jerry Schmidt.
    Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Ch urch, Sherwood, with Fr. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Burial will take pla ce in parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Boe ttcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna and again on Thu rsday from 10 a.m., directly at the church, until the time of service. The re will be a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of flow ers a memorial fund has been established.
    The family wishes to thank the staff of Theda Care Adult Day Services, Pra irie Home and Brewster Village for their wonderful care of Mom. There a re truly angels among us.
    We'll always love you, Mom. You waited so long, but Dad finally came for y ou. See you in heaven.
