Obituary:
Joseph F. "Joe" Therrien, 40, Suamico, died Monday, July 28, 2008. He was born September 10, 1967, in Neenah to Henry F. "Hank" and Karlyn "Kit" (VanDaalwyk) Therrien. Joe was a 1986 graduate of Premontre High School where he served as captain of the hockey team and was a 1990 graduate of Iowa State University. On June 13, 1992, he married Catherine "Cathy" Posey at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Joe was employed as a District Officer for Citizens Bank. He had coached youth hockey at the Cornerstone Community Ice Center for the past six years.
Joe was a member of the Green Bay West Optimist Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Joe's greatest love in life was his family. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; two children, Alex "Al" and Claire, both at home; his parents, Hank and Kit Therrien; one sister, Michelle Kalies, her husband, Tony, and their children, Karlyn and Tyler; one brother, Frederick Therrien, his wife, Kim, and their children, CeAnne and Isaac, all of Kaukauna; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Shirley Posey, Suamico; special friends, Karen and Terry Posey; two brothers-in-law, Patrick Posey, and his daughter, Allyssa; Lance Posey, and his daughter, Kristy; two sisters-in-law, Colleen "Kelly" Weber, her husband, Jon, and their children, Jake, Jena and Cole; Michelle Coniff, her husband, Shawn, and their children, Marie, Leah and Grace; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frederick and Adrian Therrien; Joseph and Marcella VanDaalwyk.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday. Friends may also call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., Howard, from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. John Bergstadt officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Howard.
