Obituary:
Arlene "Peenie" Van Kauwenberg, 75, of De Pere, died unexpectedly Sunday evening, September 4, 2016 at home. The daughter of the late Edwin and Cecelia (Fox) Rosenthal was born February 3, 1940 at home in Kaukauna. On May 19, 1957, she married Gene Van Kauwenberg at Holy Cross Church in Kaukauna.
Mrs. Van Kauwenberg worked at Seymour Canning Company and Mayflower Greenhouse prior to retirement. Her hobby was stamping and she enjoyed baking and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Gene, their children, Hugh Van Kauwenberg and special friend, Tina, Charlotte (Steve) Bougie, Dan (Jane) Van Kauwenberg, Leroy (Julie) Van Kauwenberg, Ron Van Kauwenberg and special friend, Karen, Linda (Ken) Binsfield, and Steve Van Kauwenberg and special friend, Shayna, eighteen grandchildren, Mark, Corey, Nikki, Tyler, Travis, Joshua, Jason, Jerica, Janessa, Brian, Brenda, Brad, Craig, Zach, Ryan, Rob, Crystal, and Christopher, many great-grandchildren and two sisters, Evelyn Gottfried and Mabel (Don) Peterson. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Florence Kilsdonk.
Family and friends may call at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, N5589 County Road E, De Pere from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday September 7, 2016. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue at the church after 9:30 am Thursday, until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday at the church with Father John Chrysostom Katamba, officiating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
