    Obituary:
    Robert C. Smet, 85, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born March 24, 1919, to the late Frank and Annabelle (Bacon) Smet in the town of Glenmore. On Feb. 14, 1945, he married Johanna "Jane" Krerowicz in Milwaukee. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the 32nd Division and was a Purple Heart recipient. Robert retired in 1981 from the Brown County Hwy. Commission. He remained an active member of the VFW Duck Creek Post #7534 and served a term as the Post Commander and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Robert enjoyed his cottage at Crooked Lake.
    He will be sadly missed by his wife, Jane Smet, Woodside Lutheran Nursing Home; his children and their spouses, Wayne and Cheryl Smet, Coleman; Marlene and Bob Roloff, Greenville, William and Cheryl Smet, Michael and Debbie Smet, all of Green Bay; six grandchildren, Bob (Ellen) Smet, North Carolina; Brennan Smet, Green Bay; Natasha (Chris) Nowak, Oshkosh; Aaron Smet, Eric Smet, Tyler Smet, all of Green Bay; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Smet, Morgan Smet, both of North Carolina; Vincent Nowak, Oshkosh. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Omer and Lorraine Smet, De Pere; Viola and Terrence Farrell, Lakewood; Jerome and Vera Smet, De Pere; Joan Zuehls, De Pere; Kathleen and Richard Vaessen, Pound; Alvin and Betty Smet, Green Bay; one sister-in-law, Christine Cullen, Green Bay; many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers-in-law, Sylvia and Bill Robertson and Merlin Zuehls.
    Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (today). There will be a VFW Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a Parish Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may also call at St. Jude Catholic Church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Thomas Farrell, his nephew, officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
