    Obituary:
    Donald "Dean" Esler, 85, of Oshkosh passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center. He was born March 20, 1920, in Kaukauna to John and Margaret Esler. On August 21, 1948, he married Dolores Lefky in Greenleaf, WI. Donald retired in 1982 from C.R. Meyer, where he was employed for 35 years, retiring as a superintendent. As a younger man he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the Green Bay Packers. He was a member of St. Josaphat Catholic Church, and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
    He is survived by his wife, Dolores, of Oshkosh; a son, Frederick (Vicki) of Fond du Lac; a daughter, Susan (Neil) Verwey of Oshkosh; a sister, Frances Biersteker of Kaukauna; four grandchildren: Liv and Thor Esler, and Andrew and Kyle Verwey.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Jack and Orrin, and three sisters: Helen Mullen, Rita Weyenboom, and Edna Chopin.
    A memorial service for Donald will be held Friday April 29, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. Josaphat Catholic Church (1333 Walnut St) with Fr. Robert Stegmann officiating. Visitation will be held Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Inurnment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. A memorial has been established.

    Frances Esler Biersteker, age 89, a long-time resident of Combined Locks, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, December 14, at Brewster Village in Appleton.
    She was born on December 24, 1923 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. After graduating from Kaukauna High School, she worked at Thilmany Paper Company before she married Maurice ("Terry") Biersteker on June 18, 1949.
    After her marriage, she worked at the Kaukauna law offices of her brother, Jack Esler, preparing tax returns; as a stock broker and, later, as compliance officer of the brokerage firm McKee, Jaeckels & Ryan in Appleton; and finally as the President of the Combined Locks Credit Union.
    She is survived by her two sons: Peter Biersteker and his wife, Carol Brooks, of Bethesda, Maryland; and Jay Biersteker and his wife, Vicky Biersteker, of Appleton, Wisconsin. She is also survived by three grandchildren: John Biersteker of Cambridge, Massachusetts; Tyler Mitchell of Denver, Colorado; and Megan Biersteker of Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
    She was predeceased by her parents, John Esler and Margaret Hendricks Esler; her husband, Terry Biersteker; a daughter-in-law, Kris Biersteker; and her eight siblings: Edna Chopin, Helen Mullen, Rita Wynboom, Edward Esler, Edmond Esler, Jack Esler, Orin Esler, and Donald Esler.
    A memorial mass for Frances will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Holy Cross Church, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, Wisconsin. The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Cross Church both an hour before the mass and immediately afterwards at a reception in the church basement. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association .
    The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Brewster Village who lovingly cared for Frances for the last eight of her nearly 90 years.
