    See Image Van Hoof, Gerard H.Attorney and businessman, died at the age of 89 on October 14, 2003. He w as born February 18, 1914 in Little Chute, WI. He graduated with the fir st graduating class of St. John's High School in Little Chute in 1932, rec eived a Bachelor of Arts as well as a Law Degree from the University of Wi sconsin-Madison in 1938. Additionally, he received a Doctor of Law Degr ee from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1966. He practiced l aw in Little Chute for over 60 years. He was a member and past preside nt of the Outagamie County Bar, member of the Wisconsin Bar and former mem ber of its Board of Governors, a member of the Wisconsin Academy of Tri al Lawyers and the American Bar Association / Senior Lawyers Division, Wis consin Alumni Association, UW Foundation - Benchers Society, UW Law Scho ol Alumni, Kaukauna Elks Lodge #962, Knights of Columbus, American Legi on Post 258, the UW Law School Board of Visitors and the American Judicatu re Society, past Court Commissioner and past Public Administrator for Outa gamie County.Jerry served on the Corporate Board of Directors for the YMCA of the Fox C ities and a member of the YMCA Heritage Club Committee. He was also Honora ry Co-Chairman of the 2001 Capital Campaign for the YMCA, Chairman and C EO of Pioneer Village, Inc., and President of St. John's Cemetery Associat ion.He was Chairman of the Van Hoof Companies which includes Pacon Corporatio n, Superior Specialties, Inc. and Warehouse Specialists, Inc., all of Appl eton, WI, Member, Board of Directors of the Bank of Little Chute, Preside nt and CEO of Sentech, Inc., Appleton, WI, and Member, Board of Directo rs of MemoryLink, Inc., Appleton, WI.He served as past Chairman of the Board and President of Studio Specialist s, Ltd. of Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Montreal and Toronto. He w as also a member, Past President and Director of the Wisconsin Paper Grou p, Inc., and member of Butte des Morts and Fox Valley golf clubs. He serv ed as a naval officer in the Pacific area during World War II.He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia (Kline) Van Hoof, parents Ma rtin and Jane (Jansen) Van Hoof, a sister, Ann Goshgarian and her husba nd Dr. G.A. Goshgarian, a brother-in-law, S.M. Timmers, parents-in-law Geo rge and Martha Kline. He is further predeceased by sisters-in-law and the ir spouses Margaret and Otto Reith, and Patricia and Wally Gotstei n. He is survived by his five daughters and sons-in-law: Lynn A. (Charle s) Werner, Chicago, IL; Jacqueline M. Chong-Garcia, Kaukauna; Kay M. (Jule s) Schoerning, Greenville; Mary J. (Robert) Van Hoof-Schroeder, Kaukaun a; and Amy P. (Dennis) La Barre, Neenah; nine grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister Blanche Timmers, two bro thers: Francis (Dawn) Van Hoof, Urban (Anne) Van Hoof; and a sister Joan ( John) Scherer.The family would like to especially thank Dr. Greg Johnson of the Kaukau na Clinic, Drs. Zent, McDonald and van Heerden and staff of the Mayo Clin ic and Dr. Wm. Guenther and staff at the Martha Siekman Cancer Cente r. We would especially like to thank the nurses and staff at the Oncolo gy Cancer Center at AMC as well as the nurses and staff at Cherry Meado ws Hospice for their kind and loving care.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2003 at H oly Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Rev. Msgrs. James Vanden Hogen a nd George M. Schroeder concelebrating. Interment will be in St. John Cemet ery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 noon until 3: 30 p.m. Thursday. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legi on Jacob Coppus Post #258, Little Chute. An honor guard from the Knigh ts of Columbus, Fourth Degree Allouez Assembly will be present. In li eu of flowers, the family has established a memorial fund in his name whe re the donors may designate for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the G erard H.
